New to the forums so I hope this is the correct place to post this. I picked up my 2020 tacoma with a 4 cylinder Monday and now have about 250 miles on it. Its idling at 600 rpms best I can tell but I when I am sitting in drive at a stoplight with my foot on the brake I can feel a shiver in the engine about every 2 seconds. Also, there are time when I put it in park the rpms will drop to about 300 like it's going to die then surge back up. Is this somthing that will even out with more breakin miles or somthing I should take it in for? Thanks in advance

Did you ever figure this one out? I bought a 2020 tacoma with a 6 cylinder last week and mine does the same thing. Did you take yours in?

I spoke to a couple different techs from different dealerships and they said it's the engine computers learning and adjusting fuel and timing for different environments and scenarios. I now have about 800 miles on it and it is evening out now and running smoother as it becomes more "broken in"

Glad you posted this. Mine (2.7) was randomly idling rough and I only have 700 miles on it. I guess this makes sense since it was 18 degrees last night when I was driving it. 18 degrees would be a new environment for it to learn. The transmission was the same way. I test drive it and purchased it, seemed fine. Then it rough shifted pretty hard for a week or 2 and then cleared up and starting shifting correctly again.

    It's a secret
It was just nervous...It had stage fright to be driven on public roads and sitting at stoplights or intersections with other vehicles in the wild...
