Here is a quick picture I snapped this morning.. I see the "notch" but I wonder if mine is more defined then the others have shared... How do you properly aim it when there is this notch..?
Still not sure if mine is out of alignment or is normal. When pulled directly up against the wall, the beam cut off looks level and identical.

    Headlight aiming instructions:
    https://www.danielsternlighting.com/tech/aim/aim.html

    Specifically:

U.S. (DOT, SAE) VOR headlamps can have a straight-across cutoff line extending all the way across the top of the low beam, or a stairstep-shaped cutoff that's lower on the left and higher on the right side of the beam, or just a squared-off top edge of the high-intensity "hot spot" (brightest part of the beam). Whichever style it is, the cutoff to pay attention to is at the top of the right half of the beam pattern. It should be aligned with the applicable horizontal line per the table above.

It was something I noticed on my headlights when I first drove at night. Thought there was a bad LED on my set. When I looked it up, I found out a lot of other headlights with multiple LEDs have a similar notch.

It is kind of like the step effect on HID projectors. When it shines down the road, the notch in the beam pattern should line up with the lane lines. Helps to prevent glare for incoming cars.

Thought I was just behind the times, so didn't bother to post about it.

    Gotcha.

So I guess mine are fine and I will consider it case closed.

Hi @CF615, i just tried to install my new LED headlights and I too bought the TRS harness and I'm running into issues where none of my headlights are working but Daytime Running Lights, Fogs, Park, and Turn Signals all work. I keep blowing fuses every time my headlight plugs are connected. I tried every combination of hooking up to change polarity as well. The TRS harnesses didn't come with wire diagrams and I'm not sure the wires are the same year to year for Tacomas anyway. Did to get your issue solved?

I used a voltmeter to test my headlight plug outputs and I was convinced I needed new OEM plugs which cost me another $200 on top of the cost of 2021 headlights.

I can't get ahold of TRS and I'm frustrated as shit.

Wondering if to could let me know if their harnesses are shit.

    Thanks
    Victor

Yes thanks. I actually ordered a set of harnesses from him too b/c the TRS set sat at USPS for a week. Took two weeks to arrive to me. Unfortunately Dave had been away on vacation and won't be shipping the these till Monday. It's tough right now b/c my truck is a daily driver and the days are a lot shorter right now.

@daveeasa if you can ship these on a faster method it would be greatly appreciated. I'm hoping I can return all the wiring harnesses that I paid Toyota $200 for today. It's absolutely absurd that plugs and wires cost that much!
The voltmeter seems to suggest my OEM plugs are the issue but it's hard to believe that now based on what I've been reading on this thread about the TRS harnesses.
The new Toyota plugs arrive Tuesday. Fortunately I don't need to do night driving between now and then. Hoping your harness may be the solution!

Hmm, sorry about that @TRDPro75, I could have shipped you a set on Thursday without grille lights had I known the context. Or I could have sent the set on my truck but they are a little dusty. I wasn’t aware of the urgency.

I bet we can get the TRS harness working. I’ll need photos to tell you what to do. The low beam and high beam connectors must both be oriented correctly on both sides.

I’m not sure what OEM harnesses you ordered, could you link to a part number? I do have H9 connectors and I can throw 4 of those in your box in case you need them but I’m not sure what a voltmeter is telling you that’s causing concern?

    Looks good!

Got mine installed last week and wiring figured out for the main lights with the TRS harness compliments of @daveeasa this last Monday. Thanks Dave!

Weather is better tomorrow where I can get some pics to post.

Hey everyone, started clicking through all 110 pages of this thread a bit ago. I remember reading about some clips that people are commonly breaking when installing the headlights. If I remember right it was on the fenders? Was wondering if anyone has the part numbers for these so I can have some on hand when I do the headlights. Cant seem to find the comments talking about this again. Thanks for the help!

Might be the fender flare clips. Or the bumper retention bracket. Both cab be found easily on Amazon.

It's pretty unlikely those fender clips will break if you just reach from inside the engine compartment and pinch it while you push the fender away. I've opened mine up 8 to 9 times for various projects and still have good working clips. If you pry from the outside you'll likely break them. It's only 2 clips you have to reach on each side and you can see them both once the grill and black plastic air guide scoops are removed.

Do you have a PRO? I like the badging in the headlights, and would like to put them in my OR. Hoping it's just as easy to plug-n-play that headlight into my OffRoad. The LED harness is currently being shipped.

    Looks like an offroad

It will be plug and play with your harness for the lights.

Thanks! Wish I was more creative to make the PRO say OffRoad or anything besides PRO. I do like that badging though.
