They retail for almost $1000 a piece but there are dealers that heavily discount them to @$650. the best harness is from a guy named Mike. His email is here in this thread somewhere (67xrunnerdude) or somehing

1000 dollars a piece for plastic headlights that’s crazy considering it’s part of a 400 dollar package

I got my set for less than $1000 used on CL from a guy who put them on a leased 2017 and removed them.

It’s a $500 factory option. Well worth it.
However, you can resell your halogens so it’s not $500 or $1450 but more like $500 vs $1000. Since net of $1350 - 400 is around 1000. Still way better to get for +500 but 2x rather after the fact rather than 3x when you do all the math.

The harness is $85 from Mike and well worth that price, excellent quality. There are DIY options for less if you are so inclined.

EDIT: LED shows as +485 for me for a TRD OR. So I am rounding up to the 2020 number. It’s an absolute no brainer to me for anyone not in very cold climates where halogen heat to melt ice/snow might be worthwhile. But it’s not an out of this world extreme upgrade post delivery. It’s pricey, sure. But it’s converting a normal wear low performance part to a set-and-forget 25 year lifetime part with much better performance. Not unlike springs or shocks or any other part except for the expected lifetime being awesome.

It’s not just plastic. All of the electrical components are inside them.

Unless you own a SR5. Then you’re in more trouble. Praying @Puppypunter has a solution.

Agreed on that. Would be nice if Toyota just had these as a dealer install option with any requisite components.

No trouble at all...Then again, if you are unskilled/untrainable it becomes a shit and whine thing, but never trouble.

I don’t know a thing about electrical engineering. I’m a CPA. I have tried to make sense of your posts, but it’s all over my head.

If you have a drill, sockets and can follow instructions it’s not that bad. Surprisingly it’s relatively easy to remove the whole front end

It’s the issue of having an SR5, not actually installing it. There is an electrical issue since my DRL are halogen and not LED.

@Puppypunter is currently working on that. He’s already made one for @Gtboosted but there is a very slight issue. Both of those guys are hammering it out now.

Anyone interested in a pair of harnesses from the retro fit source? Not as good as mikes but they work

Took truck in for oil change at dealer and walked the lot. They had six 2021Tacomas, 4 AC's and 2 DC's, all with LED headlights
