Getting my oil changed on 2020 Tacoma and tech broke the plastic oil filter housing. During the process he brings me 4 1/2” spacer he just “found in there” anyone know what this is?

I had same question. Not being disrespectful but the guy is special needs. Sounded like they dropped into the skid plate? I got no clue, he couldn’t answer much

Those almost look like the spacer things that go on the TRD skid but too short. I have no idea. Hopefully someone here does.

Yeah, almost certain he must have meant he found them sitting on the skid plate. If he meant he found them inside the filter housing then you truly do have a epic scale mystery on your hands here.

PS: no clue what those things are or what they do but hang on to them just in case.

What kind of skid plate do you have? I don’t know about TRD but standard plate is held on by four bolts so someone may have spaced it out. If so then your four attaching bolts are really long.

It’s a stock skid plate on TRD off road model. Had it since new, no mods to truck drivers except a small lift. I’m guessing this has to be spacers for skid plate?

That would be my guess too, it must be unique to OR my truck is a Sport and it has no spacers. Maybe someone will chime in with the answer.

Stock wheels and suspension. Random "utilitarian" mods featured on this great forum.
These are not standard equipment on OR. I've taken off both front and TC oem skids and there are no spacers. No clue what those would correspond to if your truck is stock unless someone put them up there on last oil change. Maybe someone in here is missing spacers...
