    No. But there is a very real and widely held belief that if an engine is seriously under powered, crude and outdated, it must be extremely reliable or else why would they still make it? Simple, it's cheap to produce and fleet buyers don't care what that the employee destroying it thinks.

    I am having the same issue on my new 4 cyl tacoma and wondering if this is normal, I get low rpm when cursing around. Also when stoping at light there seems to be a jerking motion when accelerating.

    turning on the pwr button does seem to crank up the rpm a little bit.

    OP mentioned it seeming like fuel filter picks up trash and it begins to spit and sputter. The exact thing happens to me every single Morning after it’s been sitting. Drive it 1/2- 1 mike it clears up and never does it again. I noticed some weird shifting when I very first got mine (19 4x4 2.7) but the shifting is pretty normal now with occasional lag here and there. I’m now at 15k miles.
