Update..the dealer just replaced both the high and low pressure fuel pumps AGAIN. They are now keeping it for a week to drive it around and very it’s fixed. I contacted corporate and they will get back with me on Wednesday regarding next steps. Six fuel pumps in three months?!?(Original+Set 1 + Set 2)

    IMO

Don't let them off the hook yet. Document the latest "fix" and keep the pressure on both the dealer and corporate.

My barber had a 2019 Pro - bought it around the same time (early 2019) I bought my OR...had the same issues you are having....over and over. The dealer was not taking it seriously. The issues were hard to believe (figure of speech) as I've had zero issues. That Pro was traded - my barber is driving a Rav4. I know this must be so very frustrating for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fortunately this time it stayed broke at the dealer rather than “healing” itself. IMO this truck is trashed. The service writer said “I had to crank it a while but it finally started and limped back to the bay.” I’m sure that was great for it.

This is my first Toyota in over 30 years of owning cars. So much for first impressions.

If you go to my link...my guess was cam solenoid.
The service manual advises troubleshooting valve timing DTCs before the fuel related DTC...also in my link.

I read that and will pass on to the dealer. That’s why I posted on this forum-to get help. It seems like no one troubleshoots anymore..they just change parts

I would just tell them to keep it at this point.

    It's complicated.
SIX FUEL PUMPS? IN 3 MONTHS?!?

Within your state, I'd be contacting the consumer protection division, and looking at the lemon laws. Also, as this is obviously a safety issue, I'd file a report with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (https://www.nhtsa.gov/)
And file a report with the Burea of Consumer Protection of the Federal Trade Commission (https://www.ftc.gov/about-ftc/bureaus-offices/bureau-consumer-protection) and for giggles, contact Consumer Reports.
    And maybe hire an attorney.

    Sorry, and good luck.

You should have an /excellent/ case to lemon law it. Even if they fix it, i wouldn’t trust it anymore. Time for a new truck or your money back.

I bet the fuel pump was never the problem.

Thanks. My complaint is up on the NHTSA website. I submitted it a few days ago. I’ll try the FTC as well. I tried the BBB, but they said Toyota doesn’t subscribe to that in my state (Indiana).

Following. I just got a 2016 couple months ago and it seems like it "stalls" or just doesn't give any more gas once I hit 80mph...it'll stay running and everything, just won't go more than sbout 80. Hopefully I don't get the same answers u do

Hopefully the last update to this thread. Dealer has replaced the high and low pressure fuel pumps twice now and driven the vehicle extensively. They say the problem never was the fuel pumps, but rather a loose fuse for the fuel pump in the fuse box.
