You are mostly correct. They don't actually order a custom truck for you but just request it be allocated to them to sell to you when it is made. (Eventually Toyota gets around to making most configurations.) So you are at the mercy of when your desired configuration happens to come off the line.

I'm thinking the LED lights, Power seats and some other options will be part of a package or maybe a separate additional package. Probably standard on Pro which will have a hearty price point. Will be interesting to see how that rolls out.

The Pro, as always, will be a fully loaded DCSB with the only real options being color, tonneau, and transmission. They've already confirmed power seats in all trims except base SR. Same with the new radio - 8" with AA and CP in all trims except base SR which gets 7" (still with AA and CP though which is nice). The MTM camera system will be only on the Off-Roads and Pros I believe. Mostly that just leaves the LED lights (both headlights and rear bed lights) and whether they'll be standard, part of the Premium or Tech packages, or just a separate add-on as the unknowns.

I have a 'spec' sheet given to me by a dealer which appears to show the tech and premium packages now separate. This is a god send for those who want the tech stuff WITHOUT having to spring for leather and the headroom killing moon roof. You're also likely to get color matched bumper with tech since it has the sonar back up system.

Does JBL show with the tech package?

I though in 2019 you could get the tech package without the premium package, but the premium package required the tech package.

When I configured over and over on the 19's - I could only get tech and no premium on the quicksand. It was not available this way on any other color (I will be placing an order for Cement) meaning I had to bundle the two which of course doesn't work for me as moon roof is no bueno.

Please someone correct me if for some reason I am wrong. I do not want leather nor a moon roof, but would spring for the tech bits, the bonus being the color matched rear bumper end caps.

EDIT: It lets me pick Tech Package only with a few different colors now, is this inventory or build based or something??

The configurator only shows you trucks physically available in your area, not every combination possible. So don't take it too literally as to what can be built.

Ahh. So if I were to order a 2020, I should be able to choose Cement with Tech and no Premium?

Yes your dealer should be able to request allocation of whatever you need to be sent to them, whenever Toyota gets around to building it.

Yep. The config just shows inventory in or allocated for that region. It forces your hand but isn’t the end all.

You can even order a premium packaged truck without tech, I’ve seen a few, though rare.

And Jbl was separate, I wish I had kept my 17, perfect config, JBL w/tech-Prem package, no tss, heated cloth seats, bliss.

What's the issue with TSS? I have a '17 with everything, minus JBL, and am looking forward to TSS on the 2020

I have it, it’s just more of a nuisance than anything, just look at the sensor recall/tsb and owners being denied or having to sign a waiver because of lifts, aftermarket grilles, etc. Have also heard windshield replacements are a fortune since it requires recalibration after. In my opinion it’s just something else to break with little added benefit. Though adaptive cruise control was pretty sweet on my last road trip.

Adaptive cruise is worth its weight in gold.

And the emergency automagic braking has saved my bacon (on other vehicles) a few times.

I'll not buy another daily vehicle without it.

Agreed the adaptive cruise control is money. The rest of the stuff is what it is. I wish the lane departure warning was a vibration in the seat instead of a tone.

I had the windshield replaced on my 2018 and didn't need the windshield recalibrated. Sometimes I think its luck of the draw and how the system is handled during the replacement.

I also noticed that they have added 2019 Pro's to the $1,000 Customer Cash + $750.00 Bonus Cash which means they are trying to move inventory to gear up. Previously the Pro's had been excluded from the discount program.
