Yeah, actually I use straight up google search bar for most things these days. If the ground was flat, it would be easier to find the height with basic algebra. If the tree was on an incline, then I would probably break out some trig

Think I might have been on an incline. I was drinking a lot that day doing yard work and had a serious lean going on... Waited for a more sober day before cutting it down.

Did any of you that went for a test drive happen to check out the bed storage compartment? Is it back on the 2020s?

Good Research here... back 6 months ago when I started planning my next vehicle upgrade over a '13 Hyundai Elantra, I went through this type of process. What i found is the brands you "think" would be expensive, are indeed massively over priced. Oh, you want a Jeep 4x4 with leather, boom 60K. You want a lexus with anything, boom 50K to start, ect ect.

In all seriousness, have you ever test drove the Chevy Colorado? Its awful... tight on the inside, everything looks cheap, steering wheel felt like I was driving a go-cart (small wheel), loud drive. It was not a nice truck, even if you decked out the outside and added all the options (which gets GD expensive fast). I think Chevy and Ford load up on the optional crap, making a base 30K vehicle now 50K in a heart beat.

Not sure if anyone with a 19 was trying to do this but my dealer said they can’t put the 2020 LED housing units in the 2019s. It just wouldn’t work apparently. They don’t recommend a complete reconfiguration.

The only thing that’ll send me running to the dealership is a reintroduction of the regular cab, and/or 0% financing!

A friend of mine actually turned down 0% financing on his new 2018 DCLB because it was a 3-year loan. He had just bought a house, and the traditional 5-year loan with interest was actually cheaper because payments for a 3-year loan were higher, even with 0% interest.

My friend got a Colorado as a loaner while his 2010 DCSB was getting the frame replaced. He and his fiancé hated the Colorado for numerous reasons, his fiancé especially because the seat bolster would nail her in the private area every time she got in the front seat!

Of course the monthly payment will be higher. The term is lower. He'll pay more for the truck at the end of it on the 5 year (insert whatever interest rate) term.

    Example: $40k @ 0% for 36 months = $1,111 a month payment (used apple calculator for that)

Same $40k @ 3.9% for 60 months = $735 a month but you'll pay $44,091 for the truck by the end of it.

For most, unfortunately, it comes down what they can afford each month. Dealerships know this and will sell to you accordingly.

My dad and I use the same bank (NFCU; not technically a bank). Back in November 2018, they were offering 2.9% APR on new car loans. My dad settled for a CPO 2018 GMC Yukon SLT with 8,200 miles, and I believe his interest rate is like 3.3%?

Both are great interest rates on a vehicle. I'm sure most will be happy to get either of those. Typically, the longer you do the term, the higher the interest goes.

Example (using same $40k purchase price):

    60 months @ 3.9% = $734/month : totaling $44,091 end of term
    72 months @ 4.25% = $630/month : totaling $45,387 end of term
    84 months @ 4.49% = $555/month : totaling $46,689 at end of term

People will typically choose the one that fits their monthly budget. Not necessarily the "best" option for total $$ wrapped up in the vehicle.

Used car loans always have a higher interest rate for some reason.

My friend’s parents have 3.8% APR for a 2018 Nissan Rogue SV Midnight AWD, for a 6-year loan. The Rogue was a brand new leftover, purchased in March 2019.

Some banks and car companies are offering 8-year loans!

Here's a video review on the Tacoma and 4Runner. At about 3:36 he talks about programming changes to the transmission. Encouraging and hope they make that a TBS for older models

It's because used car loans are more risky to banks. Offset it with higher interest rates. Typically not a huge hike using the same person and credit score. But the older you go, you definitely see it go higher.
