It's also disappointing not seeing the power seat have any kind of angle adjustment to make it more bucketed, in the video - which are the seats biggest issue. They sit way too flat.

It would also be nice if they made the lines in the backup camera actually turn with the steering wheel. The way the work currently almost defeats the purpose of having a backup camera. lol

Makers are afraid to make the seats too bucketed since Americans are fat and will complain the seats are too narrow. Not joking.

Every car I've ever been in that had a camera, except one other, had the lines turn. When I first got the Tacoma, I was like, wtf is this? Why aren't the lines moving? lol

So it looks as if the 4th gen Tacoma will be the real truck everyone was hoping for in 2023 according to the engineer.

You missed my point. I owned a 1st gen for 13 years. I feel pretty qualified to say that the gen 3 taco and the 1st gen tundra are in no way the same dimension. The closest is in length... my longbed taco is about a foot shorter in length. But everywhere else, the taco feels like a compact truck. Not nearly as roomy at the first gen tundra. It’s still comparing apples and oranges.

This makes no sense. Would it be nice if the lines turned with the wheel? Sure. But if the camera itself doesn't turn then it doesn't really get you any extra advantage. Just use your brain and you can figure out where you are going to go. Saying it "defeats the purpose" just because the little line doesn't move is gross hyperbole.

Question... Have you ever driven a Toyota that has this feature? If not, you may not appreciate the feature. It’s not necessary for the camera to also move. The lines are great and make backing up and parking 10X easier without question.

This is the first vehicle that I've OWNED with a backup camera, so it is an upgrade for me for sure everyday. But I have driven and ridden in multiple vehicles with the moving lines feature, and while I admit it is nice, again I think it is far from being "10X easier". Honestly it isn't a huge leap in logic just to figure out how your car is going to turn using the camera image without having the lines spell it out for you. Also don't forget people backed up with just mirrors and turning their head for decades and those tools are still at your disposal!

Now, that being said, any modern vehicle really should have that (also power seats, 4 wheel disc brakes, etc., but here we all are). I don't dispute it is nice and should be in there, I just disagree with the assertion that not having it "defeats the purpose" or is "10X easier", like it is pointless to have a backup camera just because that is missing.

This is complete nonsense. The lines turning with the wheel show you what path the vehicle will take at a given time. The camera doesn't need to turn to show you that.

This. It is a night and day difference. There is a reason why almost every vehicle with a backup camera has the lines move with the wheel - it is a massive difference.

The Tacoma not having the feature is just the continued trend of cheaping out. No different that the current lack of power seats, and having rear drum brakes.
