Toyota knew exactly what the Ranger was packing other that looking like shit for a long time before us peasants on TW. If it’s their biggest chance at competition you know they have people that will get that info. They have plenty of time to do changes based on the Ranger.

    Correct, it's actually slightly bigger

    Wrong, it is substantially wider
    upload_2019-1-29_13-14-5.jpg

Edit - apparently it's not wider than the Tacoma? Measurements of the Ranger include mirrors per posts from @xJuice below - sorry for the confusion.

That is the only upgrade that could make me seriously consider trading up.

I really miss driving a manual transmission... :(

I agree, I would seriously consider getting the DCLB, I miss the 6 ft bed.

Hopefully Toyota will address the cheap rear bumper and no rear step

There's some confusion there because the Ranger is showing wider than the F150. Mirror widths are getting mixed in, I believe.

I hope they don't add a step to the bumper, but then again I am very happy with my 17.

Ha! It doesn't really matter to me since I do believe it will be gone by the time I expect to be looking for another. By then, hopefully full EV 4x4s are commonplace and much less expensive.

Ford has counterintelligence teams whose job it is to prevent exactly what you're describing. The same is true for every large company in the world -- especially those that rely very heavily on R&D.

I guess Toyota could have been successful with some of their business intelligence efforts (or even corporate espionage); but, chances are very high that they found out a lot of specifics about the Ranger at the same time as the rest of the world.

Ask me how I know about BI/CI...

Doesn’t tease me until they redo the ugly ass grille.

    And drop the price $10k.

    Then, then it will tease

My mistake, too many publications are posting it at 86" wide. A very deceptive specification, probably to grab more people's attention.
