Ok, so I have a '16 Tacoma Sport that I bought the TRD Pro grill for. At the time, I didn't need the sensor add-on since the '16 didn't have it. Now I'm looking at a 2020 Sport and it has all the sensor stuff. If I moved over my TRD Pro grill from the '16, what would I need to make it work?

I bought it from the "freshmextaco" guy who has apparently been locked out or something.

Anyway, can someone help me out on what I'd need? Thanks..!

but seriously... unless the '16 grille has the cut out for the sensor array, you'll have to cut or get another.

is it a "one-piece" grille? or is there a cut-out/ fill plate where the sensor would go?

It has the space where you can add the sensor thing I think. The little square below the "TOYOTA". I didn't buy the piece when I bought it since I didn't need it on the '16, but it has a space for it. But you dont use the sensor from the Tacoma, you have to add in something, right?

not 100% sure, i still have a '16. but i think the sensor bolts into that spot and you replace the square with a different square that's translucent for the sensor to work.

the sensor on a stock OR/ Sport grille is behind the "Toyota" logo, which is basically just a window. for the Pro grille, it's just moved down a few inches and so is the window.

i imagine you would just need this piece. unless the Toyota Safety Sense has changed from 2019 to 2020.

Hi, anyone else have any knowledge on this? Will I need to buy an extra piece or will the new '20 truck come with a piece to connect to the TRD pro grill? Thanks..!

You use the sensor from the stock grille. You may need to buy some retainers, I'm not sure on that. Also, you will want to get the garnish(clear cover that protects the sensor).

Ok, I think it's the garnish that I'm talking about. I know the Pro grill I have has the spot for it, just didn't need it at the time on her '16.

This is what you need. Note: Verify the part number as I just pulled a random google image.

Has anyone tried it out? I have the same issue. Maybe just cut the top lil piece where the camera goes on the real pro.
