2020 Tacoma TRD Sport - where is the camera located for TSS?

In my owners manual, it appears that the camera for TSS is located behind the rear-view mirror. However, i had two people tell me the other day that the camera, not just the TSS sensor, is located somewhere in the grill of the front end.

I was looking at replacing the grill and I know about the sensor but don't see a camera anywhere on mine.

They must be referring to the trd pro. Only the pro has the front and surround facing camera for off-roading

 

The Limited has the bird's eye view and side cameras. But, not the cameras under the truck. Panoramic and bird's eye only on the Limited.

The cameras are in the side rear view mirrors, front grill and tail gate.

I think the safety sense cameras might be involved with the windshield since replacing the windshield requires re-calibration of said cameras. IIRC, the owner's manual shows where the cameras are located.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought you could get cameras on the Pro for showing clearance under the truck for off roading. Am I wrong owners???

You are correct about the MTM add. But from what I can tell from my truck. It just uses the cameras under the mirrors to give a split screen view beside the truck.

 

Do all Pro's come with MTM? Or is it an option for the Pro and Off-Road?

I have a '19 sport, the TSS camera is mounted inside that black plastic housing near the top of the windshield.

Edit: ...and the TSS sensor (RADAR, not camera) is behind the Toyota emblem in the center of the grille.

 

Do you have the advanced tech pack? That's the one with the front camera and pano view. TSS sensor itself is behind the toyota logo on the front. My OR has the advanced tech pack which required me to get a specific oem pro grille and had to relocate the camera/tss.

I don't see where the MTM is any different than what I have on my Limited. There's no view under the truck as I've read... This is standard on the Limited trim. They only call it Panoramic and bird's eye view on the Limited (not MTM), but it's apparently the same thing.

I would assume you would want to see what's under you ahead of time before going over it already; hence the front/side cameras and not under-body.

 

It's standard on the Pro. No sure about the OR?

Classic TW false information. My 2020 OR w/ Adv. Tech has a front-facing camera (in the grill below the emblem) and "surround cameras" on the underside of the mirrors.
