Anyone else have the wiper interval rate adjustment slower when twisted to the faster rate? The smaller bar icon represents faster interval between wiper passes yet when set to that the wipers react at a slower rate... the larger bar icon represents a slower rate between each pass but when I set the wiper interval rate to that it goes faster. Perhaps I am missing something here??

Mine is the same way, counterintuitive but whatever. Not really a big deal.

I bet you're looking at it wrong, the wider bar should indicate interval of time not speed or vice versa, I know Toyota switched it at some point but its been the same for years now I dont even look at it, just twist, I extremely doubt its "wired backwards".

It's not wrong, you are. Think through things a little more and try again.

I'm a really supportive guy, I swear, lol

Any other vehicle I have owned, including my 2003 Tacoma, was the opposite of my current 2020 Tacoma. That is why I suspect an issue. I do however need to read the manual to make sure I am not losing it

It's a matter of perspective. The design on the stalk could mean either more more wiping or more time in between wipes.

Truth be told, I have no idea what my stalk looks like in that regard, I just adjust accordingly and learn through habit.

Highly recommend you set up an appointment with your dealership to receive a bit of training on how everything works in your truck. It should of been offered to you when you purchased the vehicle. There’s regional teams that come and set everything up for you and explain EVERY FEATURE. They don’t even try to up sell you. Probably the best 60 minutes I’ve ever spent at a dealership. Plus free food and coffee.

For example they showed me how to change my automatic unlocking door from just the driver side to all doors. Best feature IMHO.

It is a real thing. Or at least in the PNW. I thought I “knew it all” but they showed me some cool tricks to the software etc I never realized the 2018’s had.

Looks like I need to go to school with Mr. Salesman because that sounds like a good trick to learn. I am in for my 5K service on Saturday and will certainly ask for a bit of education on the taco. Did my first off-roading trip for vacation today and let’s just say I had no idea what I was doing lol I did however manage to jump a 6’ sand bar ha

well remember the sales men don’t know squat. You want to receive the “course” from the person who’s job is specifically to show you how it works. Generally they don’t work for the dealership but are available at said dealership on certain days. But then again there’s always the sales man that owns the latest and greatest taco and probably knows his stuff too.

The OP is 100 percent correct. It should be the opposite. Why Toyota changed it is puzzling.

I agree with the OP and this wiper set up
is wrong. My 2007 Solara was correct and the opposite of the 2019 Taco.
