    Hello Forum,

Like most, I have been researching for a while now on a suspension upgrade and have come to realize there are many options and factors affecting my decision. The last thing I want is to ruin my 2020 Tacoma making bad decisions.

I have run 33” tires in my 2014 Tacoma absolutely love them. I easily put on 5-7K/ year in the woods.

I’m being told that any lift 2.01 to 3.99” will stress other components and affect angles/geometry/CV. I was excited about Fox 2.5 coil overs and Fox 2.0 W/reservoir Rear. Even with UCA, diff drop I’m told it’s still not optimum. I then was told about rust issues and the fact that Fox only has a year warranty. I’ve looked at the Bilstein 6112 series for front and the 5160 W/Reservoir Rear. Again with UCA, diff drop. Still told not optimum. Why do they make so many 2.5” to 3” coil overs if they are not optimum?

I’m going to see a shop wrt a BDS or Zone 4” setup. From there I may use the Bilstein setup above with UCA and cab mount chop. Anyone else frustrated lol

3rd gens have been around for a while, many people running plenty of 2.5-3" lifts. I think not having optimum angles is part of the deal when you look at lifting the front. Unless you go with a bracket lift, but then you gain no clearance so no real off-road benefit and a higher center of gravity.

Anyhow, OP maybe post this in the 3rd gen general forum and you might get some more specific answers to your particular model.
