I'm tempted to take up airbrushing and paint a very thin coat of metallic grey over the chrome by hand. Or try to tape it off and spray it, but that seems like a PITA.

I added this grille badge to my 2020. No drilling. Pleased with the look but modifying the Toyota logo would make everything pop IMHO. 20200708_132337.jpg 20200708_100431.jpg

I painted my grill and logo. I have no sensor issues at all. The back of the logo is completely opaque black plastic. I used 2 coats of matte black spray paint and 3 coats of matte clear coat on the logo. I used the same paint on the grill, but more coats of black before I added the matte clear on that

What grill badge did you use? I have the same grill and bought one from Amazon that has the two threaded studs out of the back, but can’t find a smooth place to mount it.

Dude it’s a radar, it doesn’t need to be translucent. I am an engineer in the automotive mmwave radar field, feel free to prove me wrong.

Hey sorry for taking so long, just getting caught up on the forum... So the emblem I got is from these guys:

    https://www.customcargrills.com/Grill-Lettering.asp

This is how I mounted it and it's really solid. I just put a strip of 3M rubber tape for added friction and this thing doesn't move at all.
    Happy New Year!

Did that change the color/output of your fog lights any noticeable amount? Lola pretty good and I never thought to do that.

The form of the light output is not as concise as it was before and the power is down. Definitely did It for for looks to get rid of the chrome. We don’t have too much fog over here, however if I move somewhere then I will remove it from the fogs.

Gotcha. I use mine pretty often so it’s prolly better I keep it off of them. Will definitely tint my emblem though. The chrome on it bothers me every time I see it. Lol.

    Thanks for the info!

Yes, if you use them don’t bother wrapping them. Mine are the 2020 led fogs, crazy bright, i can now have them on and not be an ass and blind everyone ;)

I was thinking about maybe doing something like a letterbox to minimize the chrome but still get function. But I think it’ll look weird.

When doing the tss remove it for ease and to wrap the edges.

Thanks for that idea! I just ordered the tint. I may hold a piece up in front of the fog light just to see how it looks. I’ll have plenty. Haha

Park in front of the garage or wall and see the difference in the spread, it’s not great...

P.S removing fog surrounds is a PIA, just slap some wrap on the light to test

Looks better in person. I had tried another tint but was way too dark. This is enough that it takes the glare off of the chrome but you can still see the emblem...
