2020 TRD Off Road lights

I have a 2020 TRD Off Road and the only thing I still can’t get used to is not having the automatic lights that turn on automatically from daylight to night. Mine has manual from drl to headlights. Wish there was a mod that would turn them on automatically at dusk.

 

There is an option for automatic headlights, the sensor goes in the passenger side dash speaker. Not sure if your truck would already be pre-wired and you could just add the sensor, but l strongly doubt it would be that simple.

 

Are you sure you don’t have it? My off road from 2017 does.. I’ve flipped my switch to the wrong spot before so they didn’t turn on

 

Afaik, you'd need ECU or BCM support, which doesn't exist. But I'm confused at ops question lol.

 

I turned mine on the day l bought my truck and 4 1/2 years later still haven't touched the switch again.

 

I think he is trying to figure out how to add automatic headlights but doubt its going to be an easy task.

There's a DEI 545t you can wire up. Don't even need the relays it includes.

Mine definitely doesn’t have it. It only has off, DRL, parking lights and lights. It does not have auto.

 

This is the switch I was referring to with the auto. You leave it on auto and it runs daytime during the day and your instruments are bright, then during dusk it automatically turns on your nighttime driving lights and dems your dash panel inside the truck.

 

My 2018 has the auto headlights as well, it’s part of the Premium package.

I have a couple of photocells sitting on my desk. I plan on doing some testing to add this function to mine as well (us basic guys have to stick together! None of that "premium" stuff here! ) If it goes as planned, I don't think it will be too bad to do. Should be pretty much plug-and-play, with maybe the added need for a hot wire or ignition controlled circuit at least. I'll keep you posted. Try to keep in mind though, I make glaciers look speedy sometimes.
