Just picked up a 2020 TRD OR a couple of weeks ago and for the life of me I can not figure out why I do not have the audio display info in the multi-info display in the gauge cluster. From everything I have researched and read (including the owners manual) I seems like it should just be there. No mention of it requiring any special optional packages.

Is this just user error and I am missing a setting somewhere I need to turn on in the radio or does this feature require one of the tech packages (my truck does not have any of the optional tech packages, just whatever is included with the OR package)?

Any help would be appreciated as this has been driving me crazy.

So when you scroll (right or left) using the right d-pad on the steering wheel you dont have an audio section?

Nope, just have Trip Info, Vehicle Info, Safety Stuff and Settings (Or something like those 4 but regardless I only have 4 options when I thought it should be 5).

This is 2020 quick reference guide. If it's not there then I would take to dealer/call and ask. I can't recall of anyway to hide any of those sections. I'm digging through manual.

Could try disconnecting and reconnecting battery terminals to reset the MID.

My 2020 TRD OR is the same way. Also I don’t have any extra tech packages as well.

Well at least I know I'm not the only 2020 seeing this. Should have some time to put in a call to the dealer this afternoon. Will let everyone know if they are helpful in any way.

My 2020 Pro has it. So it might be linked to a tech package or something.

I'm assuming it is linked to a package now and they just didn't update the owners manual to reflect it. Also don't seem to mention it in any of the option package descriptions. Just seems weird that it wouldn't be included with 8" radio trim levels.

No built-in apps either. I was told by Toyota tech support that this is by design. Since they added Carplay and Android Auto in 2020,they've removed the head units built-in apps. I filed a complaint about it and asked them what they thought customers without smartphones are expected to do. They've also disabled displaying album art when playing music while the vehicle is moving because "it could be a distraction while driving." And the NAVIGATION FUNCTIONS aren't? Jesus. Freaking lawyers. Dumb, Toyota. DUMB.

Any update on this? I just bought a 2020 trd sport 4x4 and I also don’t see the audio or nav menus in the MID

My 2017 TRDOR had it, but my 2020 TRDOR does not, I think it must be tied to the "Premium Audio with Dynamic Navigation" option, which is not standard in the TRDOR, standard is the "Audio Plus". My 2017 also had built in nav, my 2020 doesn't, have to use CarPlay for that.

Weird, my 2020 OR with Tech and Prem has it, just like my 16 SR5 did, 17 OR and 19 Sport and ORs did.

My 2020 OR with Tech does not have it.

Perhaps it is part of the premium?

It was standard before w/out any packages, not sure why they'd change it, but Toyota is weird like that, just like the damn bed cubbies, placement of the sliding window switch, etc.
