I'm going to take the battery out of my Tacoma fob, I'll update everyone to see if it works without it or not

Yes. Tried to start it just like always. Almost stranded my wife. Wouldn't work for either of us so I installed a new battery and it started up again fine. 2014 Rav4.

Sorry, i used the wrong quote. See above.

I may try taking the battery out of my Tacoma fob myself just to make sure. I go to some pretty remote places. Would hate to get stranded out in the middle of nowhere.

Of course I do usually carry spare batteries so hopefully it'll never be an issue for me even if it doesnt work.

Ya exactly, you would think the engineers would allow the fob to be used without a battery on all Toyota vehicles as a fail safe for such situation not to leave someone stranded

One of my VT classmates is an aide, and on the last deployment, his guy insisted on drawing tactical maps on the humvee hood with paint pens...

He always had to keep a can of spray CARC to cover over it when they were done.

Totally agree on both points. Everyone who hates push button start clearly hasn't used one for very long. The convenience of not digging for keys when your hands are full is really helpful. You're right too, there's less to go wrong and quite frankly less chance you'll lose your keys because they go into your pocket, and stay in your pocket. You don't pull them out at all to get in the vehicle, no chance of dropping them in a puddle or down a storm drain in a sitcom style way.

I'm really looking forward to the Tundra with push-button (finally), in Army Green w/ Android Auto... Between that and TSS already being an option, it's right up there with Ram for my preferred truck.

    Give it a minute....

Frankly, while I understand the appeal of additional safety equipment, I'd rather not have any of the TSS nonsense. Personal preference.

Yeah. My question was an honest one. I thought it had been in the Camrys for a while.

Agreed. Mt neighbor has a dark green gen 2 that looks cool as hell. Only one I've seen in that color in my area.

I've seen dark green ones in the STL area.

Similar but different system with Subaru... I have 86,000 trouble free miles on my 2016 Legacy. I'd rather have TSS and take it in for a recall than not have it entirely.
