2020 TRD Pro army green

It may not be real army green but it is close enough that I still like it.

 

Reduce the green pea baby food

 

I like the color but wonder how it will hold up after a few years.

 

At first I thought you said you had “gay pride.”

 

I never thought about that but now that I do, it’ll probably look more military as it fades and the gloss is knocked down.

 

I mean yes but still... that's not right. Just a very odd thing to nickname them.

I don't know if the Tacoma is designed in Japan or not, they may have US engineers do it. But for sure it is built in the US (and in Mexico) and sold in the US and Canada and no where else. The rest of the world gets the Hilux instead. So that isn't the best argument for the color. If they meant the green to be for any Army, most likely they would have meant for the US Army.

As others have said, it is more of just a traditional green that was used in (or close to anyway) Army men, old uniforms, vehicles, etc.

 

It dare say that the Quicksand is more of an army colour than pea green.

Or better still, 'Military White' if you think of military purpose Toyota trucks

 

Quicksand has taken over a lot now because the military has spend so much more time in the Middle East desert lately than other places. The green came about more I think when they were in forests and jungles fighting in WW2 (EU forests and Pacific jungles), Vietnam, Korea, etc.

 

Same can be said the the calvary and voodoo blue colors. I think a lot of comes down to where you live, where it's parked, how your treat it, and how you take care of it. Given some paints take more TLC than others.

 

So, next Pro color could be Space Force black?

 

If that's the case look out for the TRD Pro in 2021... aka the Pink Panther.

Now if it was more of a flat green maybe...….

 

Be careful when treading into political territory here.

 

It'll only be some time before this becomes an optional color on the TRD Off Road and Sport models...

 

Never heard someone say "I sure hope the Canadian Army gets involved"....

 

I think that Toyota either brings back and old FJ Cruiser Color like the Dark Cherry



Pivots over a color on another model like Lunar Rock (Rav4) or Smoked Misquote (Tundra)


Or drops a minor tweak from an existing Lexus color


It comes down to external pressure from companies like Jeep, Chevy, Ford etc. who offer a wide range of colors some of them pretty out there for specific taste. However, Toyota is more of a wait and see kind of company and they need to keep their crazy production numbers up too so it's a balance.

VW used to have quite the choice with the Golf R.
