Hi all! I just bought a new 2020 TRD Pro (love the new army green color) and want to put 285/75/16 tires on in. Do I need a lift to do this? If so, any recommendations to replace the stock Fox Shocks? I'm leaning towards King, but I don't know which ones will get me the extra 2"-2.5" lift. Thanks for your help!

I will be picking up my White 2020 Tacoma TRD Pro on Monday and was considering the same thing. Here is a youtube link that references what works with the Fox Suspension. I personally want to keep mine.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bl1IgirS5Oc

They explain what is being used at about the 2:00 minute mark.

Thanks for the video, it’s very helpful. The front lift sham appears to be a 1” spacer. What does that do to the ride quality? I want to keep the Fox shocks but I hear bad things about spacers.

I saw a thread a few days ago about some new springs coming that would add almost 2" and keep the shocks. I'll see if I can ind it and edit this post.

    Found it, mash me

In my opinion, the fox is good enough. Ride them until they die. I do love when people buy the wicked up trims and then immediately rip everything off though because then it's cheap on Craigslist. Raptor wheels are dirt cheap for an F150. Trd wheels pop up on Craigslist all the time.

I have 285/75/16 KO2s on my 19 with stock wheels. I removed the mud flaps and no rubbing anywhere. You may have different results since the 20s have slightly different wheels.

Yep. I’m “that” guy. Sold my Raptor wheels on CL in one day. My stock Jeep Rubicon wheels/tires sold just as quickly. I’ll be doing the same with my Pro wheels/tires as soon as I take delivery in February. If all goes well, my truck probably won’t even make it home before a wheel and tire change :)

Pictures please! I'm interested in staying with 16" wheels and up-gauging my 265/75/16 to 285s. There are more 285s riding on 17s than 16s.

I’ll be interested in buying 2020 Pro Fox shocks if someone is looking to sell.

Keep in mind that Toyota spent a sizable amount of money and time designing and tweaking TRD Foxes specifically for this truck. Buying a PRO and then immediately messing or removing a sole thing that makes it a PRO, makes no sense, at least to me. Your truck, your money.

It's a status symbol so they can tell everyone they own a pro

Isn't the sole thing the badge? I bet the OP is planning on keeping that

It's really not that mind boggling. The OP wants to fit 285's on a Pro. Not that crazy of a thought at all. In fact I think a lot of Pro owners want to do that

But you can do that without a lift...

    it is.
then buy an OR and save the cash. ripping off the tires, wheels and suspension makes no sense if you're going to purchase a Pro... what are
you left with the fog lights & the badge? o_O

Don't forget the grill and exhaust  I think the wheels are staying too. What's changing are the tires and suspension. Which apparently is too much. I get what you're saying 100%. You can't fathom the idea of getting a pro and lifting it and putting different tires on it because you might as well do that to cheaper model. Doesn't mean it's mind boggling though. The OP may not need to save the cash

Please take a look at my build thread. I cover this in detail. There are other folks on here with MY 19-20 Pros that did a bit more for peace of mind, but you don't need to do anything to fit that size tire.
