I am installing my Yaesu Ftm-400xdr and noticed the rear seat (actual cest, not backrest) has no latch. It’s got the hook for one, but there is nothing to latch to. Is this normal?

That's the way they are designed - the lip puts pressure on the seat but doesn't lock it in place.

I think in a collision with someone sitting in the seat, the bottom will shift forward and then lock into that hook. Keeps the seat from flipping up in a crash.
