Eh it’s basically like a Premium+tech trim TRD with accent stitching, embroidered head rests, and the shift knob. To me the stitching is what makes it look nicer, but that is in the eye of the beholder.

That’s an option the vast majority don’t have a snorkel. Also that’s not on the interior (Or if it is you got a problem).

The leather heated seat, although they may be fake cow no idea on that one, are comfortable and the heaters work well. The overall styling inside I think looks the best but all Tacoma’s rock.
No desert air intake for me I’m too lazy and winters suck here so automatic car wash for me. That’s one of the reasons I went with white it doesn’t show swirl marks, I probably just opened the automatic car washes kill your paint. Yes this may be true but on a white rig you don’t notice anything but a army green would look like hell in a short time.

looking at your description you have a 2017 Pro correct? 2020 Toyota made the jump to 2.5 Fox shocks this is where I think they failed for a daily driver. A property valued 2.5 probably works fine but these are definitely not. If I ran it as a overland rig weighted down all the time it probably would be fine, so another reason to keep em on the shelf.
There is a case for sometimes you can have to much shock and I think that’s the case here.

You spent the extra 7-10k over the offroad which is Mainly justified by the fox shocks (and a few other “luxuries”) and took the item off that makes it more expensive. And put a cheap Bilstein shock on? Why didn’t you save the money, buy a offroad and put better suspension on and save yourself a grip of money?

Well when you break it down over an off road I really like the few other luxuries
    LED headlights $1200
    Rims $1000
    Hood $1000
    Leather $1000 at least

all the off roads had a sticker of $39k and up, I got this one for $42k. Overall I think I got a steal and it now rides better.

I’ve been down the road of buying the standard and making it how you want you loose it all at trade in. I’d rather buy the best make a simple change that took me all but 3 hours in the garage for a few hundred that I can easily put back one if wanted.

Again the point of this post was for those of us living in lame states but really like Tacoma’s even if your off roading is during vacations a few times a year. The Pro holds its valve above all others so that’s also a plus

The TRD Pro has had Fox 2.5s up front since it was released in 2017. 2.0 w/ resi in the rear. Are you saying they went to 2.5s out back for 2020?

talk'n bout Automatic car washes. I've seen some pretty bad vehicle rooftops/hoods which I believe of them going thru them car washing whirling/whipping rags. It's more than swirls after time, I had a detailer outfit install XPEL ppf and they told me to stay clear of the auto car washes for that reason. YIKES!

if it was a company truck I could care less, lol

thinking of resale value? oh man. Not coming down on you but just giving my opine. I'd go thru an automatic touchless car wash though.

Yeah I only go through the touchless if I have to use automated.

TRD Pro shocks are the same for 2017-2020, except that they were slightly re-valved for 2020 to account for ~4lb lighter wheels. My 18 (before it was totaled while parked by a drunk driver) rode great. Damped perfectly for my use on-road and if anything still slightly underdamped for my use off-road. The Off-Roads I test drove were pretty far under-damped and (comparatively) bounced all over the place.

The real advantage to the TRD Pro shocks is that they are bypass type shocks - that is they have position sensitive damping. At ride height, the damping is relatively soft and gets progressively "firmer" as you reach either end of travel. Best of both worlds. I suspect as others have stated that they would have softened up a touch with time.

Hopefully I will be able to move out of Illinois and somewhere I can enjoy the outdoors so that’s why I put em on the shelf instead of selling, but for now highway driving is the priority.

I just bought a set of TRR Pro Fox off a 2021 and they are 2.5 in the front and rear. They made changes in 2020 to the shocks, and I came across this trying to figure out what those changes are. My understanding is they made improvement to the valving and tuning, but there must be more than that, as Wetcott had to change their lift kit for 2020-2021. It seems like Toyota essentially put on the Westcott lift kit from factory for the 2022 Pro.

I'm fairly certain that the TRD Pro Fox shocks have always been 2.5" front and back.

    20180126_130533.jpg 20180126_153029.jpg

Also, in 2020, they revalved the shocks, but also stopped using a flat grind coil and used a full diameter coil end with a modified spring perch.

That was an old post. I've been out of the loop for awhile but I did a quick Google and you're probably right. I think my confusion was from Toyota claiming in multiple official statements that the rear has "2-inch piggyback reservoirs". Alternative sources suggest it's a 2.5 shock with 2.0 reservoirs. Fair enough.
