I hear the reason Toyota discontinued the matte black was do to hazing and spotting of the matte black finish.....

I heard they discontinued them because the engineers saw a set of Ray 10s and felt a deep sense of shame...o_O

that too could be very true.... but when I was looking for the matte black ones the parts manager steered me away because of the amount of rims he was replacing under warranty...

Still like the original ones a lot more but these are growing on me (except for the center cap).

Interesting...I hadn't heard that. When I wash my truck I put this on after I clean them (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EVXD9J6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and it makes them look great. My neighbor how has a T4R Pro uses it and was the one who recommended it to me.

    Awesome product.....

I think what was happening from what I was told is that it was a combination of different chemicals from wheel cleaners and sprays matte finish does require different care....

I can see that happening with some of the wheel cleaners. The Dr. Beasley's creates like a seal and the more I use it the more it seems seal them. It feels like it's getting easier to clean them or maybe it could be my imagination :notsure:.

Here we are as promised. Small delay since I lost my oem lugs in my move, and my cone shaped lugs for my methods wouldn’t work. Worked out though because I got black ones to go with it.:pumpkin:

Mine finally came in. BFG KO2’s 285 70 17. After touching them up with some matte detailer, they seem to have a texture compared to the outgoing Pro wheels. Its going to be harder to keep clean in my opinion.

Yes I had the cab mount chop done and some minor trimming to plastic. So far no rubbing

So, today I went to my local dealership to buy the aluminum oil filter and saw the new 2021 4Runner Pro and the wheels look amazing! They also do have like a grey tint look at certain angles. I think I made a mistake by buying the gloss grey instead of waiting to see how the new ones look in person:(. Fortunately, the guy that I bought the wheels at the counter part was there and I asked the question if I could return them for the new Pro and he needs to ask his manager but he thinks it should be no problem since I haven’t installed them. We will see when I get a call today.
    :fingerscrossed:
I did some research on the new 21 Pro wheels and they are confirmed to be flow formed in which is stronger and lighter wheels, hence a little pricier!

Do you guys have an issue with installing the new rims. Try to install it on today and somehow on the front steer center hub doesn’t seem like it will sit nicely inside unless by force. Do I have to install it without the dust cap?
