[IMG]IMG_1565 by John Evans, on Flickr[/IMG] [IMG] Second Tacoma, first Gen.3.

Purchased last Saturday with 40k miles. Silver Sky Metallic A/T DCSB. The blandest color, but never goes out of style, I suppose. Younger more-intense me would have held out for M/T, but current me don't give AF.

Stock zero-option truck with aftermarket steps and roll up hard bed cover and WeatherTech mats. Tint installed at selling dealer when new. All services documented at local Toyota dealer except the most recent oil change written in the back of the owner's manual.
Terra Grappler G2s are treacherous in wet weather, so those will be replaced come rainy season, likely sooner as I have the itch for some new tires.

Replaced 6K harsh led interior lamps with mellow incandescents, which is more my taste.

Kind of want black or color-matched bumper caps, but otherwise it's fine as-is.

Haven't decided if the mudguards stay or go. Are mudguards cool or nah?

One week and we already feel like old friends. I keep going for the second-gen foot brake when I put it in park (old reflexes die hard and whatnot), but I actually prefer a hand brake.

Stock truck is the best truck. The silver and black have a nice contrast. Toss some tires on it and ride.

This is the plan. Just a couple cosmetic things to make it my own but easily reversed for when I need it to be concours original, lol.

Next purchase will be tires. I'm pretty set on Firestone Destination A/T2s. They are the lightest weight in the class, and they will be 100% adequate for the 99.99998% of street driving that this rig will see. I can tough out the rest of the dry season on the Nittos and maybe shift them for a few bucks as nice take-offs.

Leave the mud flaps . They help with not getting as many chips . I was on the fence now I like them . The more I get older I’m ok with the truck being mostly stock . No headaches. I have my 2019 almost 5 years and no complaints. Great truck

Firestone Destination A/T2 is a night and day difference from 2022 date code TerraGrappler G2 that came off. Ride better, roll better, stop better, turn better.

1000 mile road trip on I-75 with the 6AT and I understand how people are irritated by the transmission shifting up and down, but it never searched for gears. Just geared down when needed and shifted back up when needed and did it smoothly. 3rd gen AT issues are over reported and somewhat exaggerated, IMO.
