Just bought a 2021 Takoma. Want some basic improvements.
Start with a bed mat - so many to choose from on Amazon.
Any advice - will be sleeping on it as make a camper style.
For now will be in the Florida sun and rain and lots of oak leaves.
From this first big custom will progress to a topper. Then how about the inside - make that console more organized.
Start with the livability basics. 7000 miles on the truck and consider it my touring limo.

Definitely go for the OEM bed mat. You can even find them used quite often. I bought mine used, found it here on TW several years back. still looks and works great.

Tractor Supply Company "stall mat" ... $50 ... 4ft by 6 ft, cut to size. A bit difficult for one to move because it is a slab of weight, but with two you can easily maneuver it to clean the bed underneath.

Got a picture of this? 4 feet doesn't sound nearly wide enough if you want it to cover the whole bed? Also looks like it's over 2x as heavy as the OEM, yikes!

You cut out for the wheel wells at the front, use those for 2-inch wings to fill out at the back (4 ft almost as wide as the bed). Heavy, but it does not move around and all large rubber mats are heavy.

I think OEM were in shorter supply when I bought the stall-mat, or I just wanted one "today". Or buy OEM if that makes you more comfortable.

A rubber mat is a rubber mat! But having said that, if you can score a deal on a new or used OEM 3rd Gen mat, then that is definitely the way to go. Check your local FBMP and CL, they pop up fairly frequently.

the OEM mat has diagonal ribs and says "Tacoma" on it (very important to some people).
Some have complained the ribs and letters catch on things as you try to slide them in and out.
i personally don't want water and dirt directed to the side but rather to the tailgate to eliminate.
i have a DeeZee (as do some others) I am happy with. it is as heavy as OEM but not sure is available anymore.
    lots of options and opinions.
edit: you didn't say long or short bed (profile could indicate that if you add it). Make sure you get the right size.

If you are going to be sleeping on the RUBBER mat, I would suggest you do not get a rubber mat - they smell bad at all times to me, hot weather they smell even worse. Look to alternatives such as carpet squares you can put together to get the coverage you want or need.
