If only it were a Bronco II.. I used to think they were abominations, until I saw a few built up and they changed my mind. I’m not sure that is going to happen with the bronco sport lol.

Still looking forward to spotting one of the full fledged new Broncos. While I think Ford messed up with IFS, I still think it’s going to be a kick ass vehicle that they’ll sell like hot cakes.

Yeah the Bronco looks awesome but I’m sure they will be grabbed up by mom’s wanting to look cool. I thought about waiting and buying one but they will probably sell for 40% over sticker. Then Ford said like late summer and I decided I would rather have a Tacoma. I know it will last longer.

The Badlands and the Wildtrak Bronco look good, The Sport looks boring.

I read on Car and Driver that the real Bronco is being delayed until I think late summer due to COVID related parts supplier issues. Mostly the removable roof of all things.

    This. Another upsized unibody car.
So probably not a great platform for serious off roading.
Nothing wrong with that, per se.

But is it better than an outback or rav4?

No, those are much more reliable dependable machines.....wife's ride is 2018 RAV4 SE and wouldn't even think about any Ford suv. It also has a J VIN, not a 2,3 or 5. Can't speak to subaru origins but would definitely pick it over ford.

This! Ford should have picked a different name for the Sport so people would not confuse two totally different models.

    Dobinsons 2" lift, 33s....other stuff
I work near the Roush facility up in Denver and think I saw the Big Bronco a while back, Looked good from far away. They keep a pretty tight wrap on things up there, but I can see over their fence from on top of one of my receiver tanks . I don't hate the Bronco Sport....

First of all, as others have noted, that is a Bronco Sport, not a Bronco. Second, I've owned a lot of cars of all brands over the years. I've had few Chevrolet trucks, a Camaro, a Trans Am, two different Mustangs, an Xterra, a couple of Wranglers, a Tacoma...for every type of car I've owned I've been involved in an internet forum that supports that car. It never fails that when a competing manufacturer (in this case, NOT Toyota) releases a new model, the fan boys come out in droves to bash the competition. Can't we just agree that having more options in the market is a good thing? Not only can we choose to switch it up and buy something else, the competition will drive Toyota to step up their game. We all win.

My hats off to Ford for making (the real) Bronco. It's a sweet looking rig and looks to be quite capable.

Why would they do that? They've already fooled the OP and a few others. It's a nameplate that draws attention as it did here. They took a dying nameplate (Ford Escape) and revived it with a name that grabs headlines. Well executed on Ford's part.

It's like saying a V6 Mustang shouldn't be called a Mustang. The people who don't care about performance don't know or care about the differences. I realize the parallel isn't perfect, as the chassis vary in the Broncos case, but you get the point.

This idea is one I could get behind.
