It isn’t true.

Nobody really cares what you buy or why you buy it, but the hat hanging on American jobs sounds greater than it is in reality. There isn’t as many bodies involved than people believe there to be.

As a reference, when SBD opened a new plant to manufacture Craftsman branded tools domestically they opened a brand new 425,000 sq ft facility in Texas. Guess how many American jobs they fit in there? 500.

The average Walmart store employs half that many.

 

The largest domestic manufacturing plant (by volume) employs 7000 workers, and is owned by Ford.

Toyota’s San Antonio plant employs 1850. Equivalent to less than 9 Walmart stores.

 

Think beyond the 500 permanent positions, they had to construct the facility and purchase raw materials too so it definitely benefits the local community.

 

Not saying there is zero benefit to local economies. Only saying (a) it really doesn’t matter where the Tacoma is manufactured, there is no different in quality controls or production standards and (b) the “buy American for Americans” crowd are confused. They’re buying Japanese, and they’re supporting less people than they convince themselves that they do with that concept to begin with.

My 2019 Tacoma TRD Pro does not have either one the go pro mount nor the driver side cubby!

 

that Waialua Edition is Toyota ‘Pacific’ not Toyota ‘USA’, different company. It’s def a weird combination, 4x2 only and Voodoo blue when Voodoo was only supposed to be a ‘Pro’ only colour during 2019...

 

I think those were last available in 2018... certainly the go pro mount.

 

I think they are thinking of more a dirt path with the trial edition ... lol
