2021 DC Rear head restraints folding down

    What am I missing here? What is the purpose of folding down the rear head restraints?

    I think its actually to lay them down when using them flat? or do you remove them? I cant remember when I had my 17 I know now on my 21 4 Runner they fold down and tuck in to the front seats

    That's what I thought at first but you have to remove them to lay the seats out flat.

    It makes it super easy to get my dog hammock in and out, that’s for dang-on-sure.

    Folding down when not in use makes it easier to see out the back window. My other car has a button that electronically flips them down for the same reason.
