I said it a while back that I’d be surprised if Australia would happen.

They’re saying they are having a spike in COVID cases, yesterday they recorded 35 cases (that’s for the whole country).

It be good if they could do the same as Abu Dhabi and shuttle everyone directly to the hotel and track...

 

That British variant is a real nasty twist.

 

I think the issue is allowing in all the international personnel that are required to run an F1 weekend

 

Yep and where are half the teams and f1 staff coming from... England has it pretty bad right now.

Once the show is on the road the F1 circus has done amazingly well with covid cases considering. I believe they had a total of 68 covid cases all of last season, pretty amazing really.

 

Totally, that’s what I was meaning.
I was also surprised at how many volunteers travel across the world to do the trackside marshalling.

I think for Abu Dhabi there was 1500 F1 staff, teams, press, officials etc shuttled and flown in from the Bahrain race the weekend before.

 

I just googled... 1200 men and women marshal at Silverstone on a race weekend!

About 0.0% chance 2021 calendar happens in full even if you remove Melbourne. I seriously doubt the US GP will happen. We in the states are currently run worse than a corrupt 3rd world country. Who knows maybe by October Texas will not be part of the United States thanks to Ted Cruze LOL.

Aston Martin is happening but wouldn’t it be cool to have these other marques in F1?

 

Hopefully it’ll happen, when we move back to the mainland one of the things I want to do is get back into watching racing in person, even if it’s just small club/open track events.

Having never watched a F1 race in person I could imagine the Austin race being a quite a pompous affair!

 

i have a friend high up in the car biz and he gets Austin tickets every year, and we were invited in 18 & 19. hopefully this is the year we can make it. 3 kids makes it tricky.
