Interesting, that’s two HUGE manufacturers merging. I’m not fully understanding the need to merge. From a brief read it sounds like Peugeot wants to tap into he USA market again (I’ve only been State side 10 years but I’ve never seen a Peugeot. However I’ve Randomly seen two different Citroen 2CV’s in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park )

I think Alfa will stay put, they’ve only just gotten back into F1.

Fiat and Peugeot merger? That means the French government will become 20% Italian -- and vice versa! Strange times.

I went through a "Peugeot phase" in the 1980's and early 1990's. 1983 505S, horrible car but at least not a Camry. 1990 405S wagon, very nice car and one of the very last Peugeots imported into the US. Lastly a 1988 505 Turbo S, which was what I had been secretly lusting for all along. It would randomly die as I was going down the road, requiring rotation of the ignition key all the way to off and then restarting. Kind of exciting in a I-don't-want-to-die-like-this sort of way. Neither I nor my long suffering mechanic ever found the root cause. I gave up on it after the second cylinder head replacement; the turbos were infamous for burning a hole between #2 and #3 combustion chambers. All three of those cars had the most wonderfully compliant suspension I've ever experienced, and the most comfortable seats I ever sat in.

 

As long as Prost is not involved. Good driver but not an asset as a team manager. Poor Ligier.....

Some day Ill visit Monaco just to see a race in person. Until then I don't really care if they host another because the current cars, on that course, are just a noisy parade. And since the hybrid era began its not even properly noisy.

 

every year that rookies run Monaco at least one veteran pulls a surprise move on the unsuspecting. I'm always looking for those. Button did a good one on Mag in the McLaren at Portier (iirc) that shows when these guys fall into the procession mindset.
