2 points to the license. Puts him at four so not a big deal.

Funny enough he dropped 4 points before the race....two of which were for running Albon off the track

He said he's fine, but the penalty against Ham doesn't help his race or outcome. Sounds like he's moved on.

He also mentioned that the exuberant celebration by Lewis was not very cool to watch from the hospital. But he did say that he was "moving on".

cool. I was thinking the same thing after watching the celebration last night. I had stopped it right after the race ended. He hardly even mentioned Max. I just hope this hasn't shaken up Max's confidence much. He and RB will need to be 100% to take it to Lewis going forward.

In other UK and golf news. Congrats to Colin Morikawa for taking the Open Championship just a couple hours away from Silverstone.

Lewis did ask about Max and his condition after the incident on the radio. But It would be hard to watch on TV but this type of incident has happened to many an F1 driver and won’t be the last….unfortunately.

In his own words. From CRASH.NET

    He's swell.

“I tried to give him the space but I was quite a long way up the inside into 9 and none of us backed out and that was the end result.

"I dummied him, moved to the right for that gap and I was pretty far up alongside him but I then could see he wasn’t going to back out, and we went into the corner and we collided.

"When someone’s too aggressive, these things are bound to happen. There’s not really much more for me to say – hope he’s OK, because of course I would love to have a wheel-to-wheel battle for the whole race, I enjoy racing with him and I’m looking forward – but I will never back down from anyone and I will not be bullied into being less aggressive."

But he really like's how Leclerc got out of his way...with respect.

“He was very respectful in terms of leaving a gap,” Hamilton said of his battle with Leclerc. “I got to be somewhere alongside him, he knew that I was there, but he stayed committed and just did a wider line and he nearly kept it. And that was really great racing.

“For me, in that moment, I backed out at one point just to make sure that we didn’t come together. But I think it was just a really nice balance and I think that’s really how the racing should go.

“Of course, in a perfect world, that’s what would have happened in the first attempt. But different time, different place, different driver.”

So basically it was hamiltons corner f max. But for leclerc Hamilton decided to do the proper thing and give him room. Got it.

Hamilton didn’t leave Max any room and never even attempted to hit the apex of the turn.

Which he has done multiple times the last two seasons. Another perfect example is albon last season.

Interesting nobody mentioned how Hamilton drove straight through the corner.

You don’t get to be a multi world champion without intimidation, but sending it up the inside and hoping the other driver backs out on a crazy quick corner is a bit wrong. If you send it up the inside you have to slow down more to make the tighter apex of the corner otherwise you’re not going to make the corner . Ham did not do that with Max and Charles conceded to him.

I did, but apparently it’s an overstatement.

Anyhoo’s, with Max out of the race my boy Lando picked up a few more points…
