Basically it's like a treasure hunt. But instead of finding items, you search for specific places. In any order. The object being to find all the places.

Ah. I thought it was just an older crew and they were actually going bird spotting.

Far from that. There is actually 2 events. One is a “race” and the other is an event. The “race” is judged on how the participant navigates obstacles on their way to various waypoints. For the event, a map is given to all the guest with various roads marked from green to black.

Correct, it used to be a Time-Distance-Rally. But those are technically "races" and therefore illegal on public roads.

So it's a birdwatching event; with a very precise timeline and route.

Anyone who wants to organize such an event is welcome to. I might even come :)

Y'all are witnessing the limits of my willingness to organize events.

Somewhat less flippantly, a NH/VT back roads trip would be really cool, and I'd like to go. However given the issues of stock friendly trails, and gates on roads up there, it would need to be pre-run pretty thoroughly.

VT and NH we can bust gates on class IV and VI roads. As long as we close them behind us.

PS - does anyone bring a trailer? I'm going to start calling around some campgrounds next week - 15 trucks/no hookups/no trailers near old orchard beach, preferably w/in walking/trolly to the center of the universe. Could be a fun night for the kiddos.

If you can get up a bit early there's a quick slam bang run that can be done in a couple hrs. Out my way.

Just getting caught up, if this still happens as we get closer I can find some places for folks to stay in or around OOB. I work in OOB and live in Saco.

Congrats on the new puppy, we are talking about getting one now that we are going to Ben home for a bit. But I want a big dog, would like to free one from a shelter or rescue.

foster. A ton of rescues can’t handle dogs right now you could foster for a few weeks.
