2021 Great North Woods - Fall Date TBD

We were supposed to get all rain in southern Maine (near Portland), but I've got over 2" on the ground.

 

Ya it’s was snowing wicked hard for a bit down here.

 

Yeah, it's not an issue right now due to the roads anyway, but we'll see how long this lasts.

 

Random. But fun town in Saco just delayed their opening from may 9th or there abouts. So still nothing from the state but it’s starting to creep in.



although if the fam starts planning stuff together on Memorial Day weekend if we’re allowed I might have to bow out

Ugh...I had a cabin for mid June for fly-fishing.

 

Half our gates to get out to the ponds and lakes are still closed down here.

 

I figured BSP would be able to control # of people. Physical distancing is easy there.

 

I think Maine said campgrounds had to close up shop or something like that. Or that they couldn't "shelter" out of staters, I think that's the concern there, I would figure almost all of the campers in NMW and Baxter are out of staters there for a weekend/short trip, can't comply with a 14 day quarantine that way.

 

Good point. Park could consider cancelling those. Tough call and easy to armchair quarterback.

 

Yep. Given the circumstances best if we all just stay put until this blows over.

 

Man this is sad. Using this quarantine time to study for my amateur license but I'm itching to get out. Did all the maintenance I could do on the truck, mods are basically done. Just waiting now.

Two of my favorite places to visit are Washington DC and Baxter State Park. Very divergent places. Both, like the rest of the world, greatly impacted by this virus.

 

I like that BSP patch. Never seen one like it

 

It'll start hitting hard once we are actually out of mud season and the trails open, but you can't really travel far because of not having a place to stay.
