That's more or less the reverse of how we left the trains last time, north and then east.

 

Sounds good I should be able to get coverage for work. That route I sent you had an ice cave near the trains I wanted to see if we could find.

 

@Spare Parts @Ferball and if anyone else wants to join, that image I posted before of Elf is for real. I have no real prior knowledge of these areas we're looking to go, so if we're willing to go for it, I'm up for the adventure. But I want y'all to be well aware, I'm making this up as I go too.

Either of y'all licensed hams by any chance? Not a problem if not, not expecting it, just curious.

 

I’m up for adventure, I may have been on some of these roads before, but don’t remember. I drove around a lot when I lived in the County.
I have some handheld ?grms? I think. On a different trip, a ham guy was able to be on the same channel as me.

I hope for all nights to be camp. Depending on what the plan is, I may drive to the meet spot and camp the night before.

I shopped for a year or so before deciding that was the best choice for us. Hope it was worth the coin and wait.

heck yeah! I have to put together a plan and take vacation days at work. Depending on the timing I’ll either be in old orchard the night before or close to the meet up too.

 

PS @BadDNA i know you said you were looking for NMW this year - weekend of June 19, if you can swing it. Room for Shawn too but that’s 6, we might want to cap it at 6 if (a) this idiot is leading y’all through the woods (b) finding campsites and whatnot.

don’t think Rona will be a problem sounds like they’re wide open.

 

I’ve been wanting to see those trains ever since I’ve moved out here. I have a buddy who wants to roll as well. How many days is this trip? And are we waiting for Maine to open up still?

You’re in Boston - realistically you’ll want to go up the night before or at least part way. Caribou is like a 6 hour drive. Greenville will be our exit and will be about 5 back to Boston.

I need to put together a schedule - if Ramon and Shawn come that’s 7 total trucks which, is doable. But just wrangling the cats in the morning and stops and whatnot takes a few minutes.

I think if we go in Friday morning we’re liable to come out Sunday mid day. Or Saturday -> Monday. I’ll look at my work schedule and see which way of a long weekend works best, any preferences from any of y’all?
