Oh and someone asked - yeah it’ll be boondocking every night I assume. There might be a random lodge in the middle there somewhere but I dunno about y’all, my truck is just as comfortable as an off the grid lodge in the middle of the woods

Sorry for the rapid fire messages.

psa - that weekend is Father’s Day weekend!!! If that changes availability let me know.

I just looked at my work calendar I should be able to take Friday and Monday off. So likely after work Thursday I’ll try to get out early, if I can get to Bangor I’ll be okay with that, aiming for caribou/if @Spare Parts has a spot for the night. Then tag up Friday morning enter the woods mid morning. I’ll put together a trail plan around that and getting to the trains at least.

My buddy has his own rig. So if it’s to many no worries. I can wait for the next run. I still have to get a couple things. Jerry can, etc..

Maine is open, just social distance guidelines in place.

I can do either, but driving Friday thru Sunday is probably preferable. There is a state park in Presque Isle that has some camp sites, and a few other non camping options. I lived in Caribou for a few years, and don’t remember many campgrounds, but I’m sure there’s more on some of the lakes maybe.

The other option is to find some place on route 11 as it’s a bit more direct. However, every one meeting up in Presque Isle gives a Walmart and other stores for last minute needs.
I just googled campgrounds up there, and there are not too many, but there is what looks to be a simple camp ground just outside of PI, could work well, and make arriving at odd hours easier than the state park, which is also just outside of PI.

Grab a copy of the Delorme Maine Gazetteer, it has all the NMW camp sites marked. And when you check in you can confirm the sites you want are real (they move them sometimes due to logging activity).

However all sites are first come/no reservations, so you want to have a backup plan along your route.

With 6 trucks you'll be able to take pretty much any of them, we had a dozen or so last time, and that was a little tough.

I'd also add a couple hours to all your road legs in the NMW to allow time for various friction. We ended up pushing much harder than we wanted to at the end of both days in the woods due to delays early in the day stacking up.

Sweet. So if I have the count right

me @Ferball @Spare Parts @DustyTaco31 and his special friend. Puts us at 5 trucks. And might try for Saturday morning enter the woods. I’m out of work today but I’ll put a vacation slip on tomorrow for Friday and Monday.

So wait, what is you anticipated timeline? Curious, as it is fathers day weekend so I could probably swing it as my gift. But i might have to bring one if not 2 giblets cause the wife has a baby shower and some other similar non-sense gathering.

    :bananadance:

either Friday morning to Sunday mid morning, or Saturday morning to Monday. I think that’s probably the best for a long weekend. You can spend months in those woods. But we’ll hit the flagship spots and then next time really go off the beaten path.

I don’t intend on any real “wheeling” just logging roads.

    bring the kiddos!

you don’t need to stinkin roof tent. do you have an estimated ship/delivery date?

Do it, well that’s if we have room. When I reminded the wife it was f day weekend, she said that gives you more reason to go.

 Damon is out so we’re at 5+Seth.

if it wasn’t an established trail network I’d be nervous but :notsure: let er rip we’ll figure it out. Between Delores and Gaia and potentially 6 big brains (5. I can’t count me) we can sort this shenanigans out.

Might want to make that 4, I’m never willing to say I know what’s going on. I can still say this as none of you really know me yet.
