A few additions to make me feel cool.
LOL, true. He didn't book the flight but he sure as hell got on board and exploited the shit out of it when they handed him that ticket. I guess I will quit before I get banned.

I have always been against killing somebody's career over words. But unfortunately... The man said the wrong thing at the wrong time and NASCAR felt that unless they enacted the death penalty they were going to lose support. It's a cultural problem and it is very unfortunate.

I'm glad he's coming back the way he has. Haters gonna hate... but they certainly can't stop him from crossing the Finish Line first.
The craziest part about this is he looks to be coming out better from it all.. and that is what is putting the pie on the proverbial faces of the sanctioning body and the bigwigs at Ganassi.

I have always felt that the All Star Race has been about gimmicks. That was kind of the point. Honestly, I wish they'd bring back the pit crew competition.

That being said, I'm not much of a fan of NASCAR using it as a test bed for changes they want to make later. The current package is a result of the All Star Race. While it creates closer racing, it doesn't necessarily mean better racing. I think we can all agree a lot of once prominent events were quickly turned into snoozefests with it . Let's also not forget the moving of the numbers on the sides of the cars.

As for those tracks which are not on the schedule, I agree to a degree. North Wilkesboro is beyond repair at this point. However, the Rock has been undergoing renovations and is on its way back. Only time will tell if NASCAR decides to test it again.

As for Kyle Larson and Bubba Wallace, there are a few things you have to remember:

Larson made a comment he shouldn't have, at a time he shouldn't have, and during the wrong time in society.

Larson was suspended by NASCAR and World of Outlaws pending going through sensitivity training . His sponsors backing out (including Chevrolet) was the ultimate reason he was let go from Genassi.

He owned it, apologized, and went through his requirements. Let's ignore the political climate and world events going on at that time.

He was eventually brought on by Hendrick who had a lot of meetings with Chevrolet regarding the issue. Rick Hendrick has a bit of pull within Chevrolet. While Larson had largely in-house sponsors up until recently, he was with a much better team in the end.

I'd hardly consider taking a punishment and ultimately ending up with a better team within a year as "destroying a career."

As for Bubba: Bubba Wallace never saw the "noose." It was reported by a crew member. Given, again, the climate at the time and the lack of knowledge known about the incident at the time, Bubba was thrown into the spotlight whether he wanted it or not. The FBI released their findings and that was pretty much the end of it for the incident itself. Yes, it was recently brought up again, but that is because of the overall message that came out before hand. The show of support and stance that was taken.

Nashville Superspeedway coming back too... think that would be a sweet spot for it as well.

Whole lotta Larson fans want to make him some kind of cancel culture martyr, but you can't have it both ways. "They tried to cancel him but look, he's back!" BS. The dude royally screwed up and set the example for how to handle things for anybody after him that screws up. He didn't try to fix his image, he focused on making himself a better person and let everything else take care of itself. Even the most cynical person would have a hard time looking at his actions after his incident and saying "he's only sorry that he got caught."

Larson's story is proof that society can – and should – hold somebody accountable for their mistakes, but at the same time, nobody is irredeemable so long as they're willing to learn from those mistakes and better themselves as a result.

I definitely liked that happening. We'll see what the racing is like first.

Nobody here denied he screwed up... we all stated the punishment didn't fit the crime. Should he have dropped the n bomb... probably not. But he was addressing a friend and had no malice behind it. I have friends of minority status to whom we both "insult" each other with those kind of words... its a guy thing. Its one thing to say it to a friend in jest... another to call someone in hate. But... thats only my opinion.

He did the sensitivity goop and the apologies because he had to in order to be back in the Series... he gave them what they wanted to get what he wanted. And... I don't fault him one bit.

It was always great racing when Trucks/Xfinity raced there...

21 cars in the All-Star race. That’s over half the field. What is this, college bowl games? Honestly, put the best 10 cars out there from whatever measurement, add two cars from the open and let them rip for fifty laps. No pit stops, no tires, no adjustments.

Last night, the SRX guys had to make one set of tires last for two 15 minute heats (roughly 35 laps each) and a 100-lap feature. There was only ONE tire failure and it was due to body damage contacting the tire.

I could get on board with that. Agree, too many participants. I say winners for all of previous year & first part of current season. Maybe have an open and only winner advances.

I wish when drivers get a waver for running for a championship they didn't have to make the top 30. Maybe top 25 or 20. There are what? 36/37 full time drivers? Not that hard to get above those bottom 6 drivers
