I feel like, if you're not locked in by this point, you're not going to be a factor in the playoffs and will be quickly eliminated (like Austin usually is).

 

Unless you’re Tony Stewart.

 

As far as the #3 holding up the #10 … Dillon didn’t want Almirola to win. When the Almirola won it knocked Dillon out of the playoffs in the standings.

 

the #3 shouldn't be racing.. that number should be retired..

 

I knew NASCAR attendance was down, but I didn’t realize how much until watching the SRX race at Nashville. They said the 40-50K fans at the SRX race was more than Texas has had the last couple of years. That’s hard to believe but I know that nearly all of the big tracks have taken down bleachers so TV wouldn’t show the empty seats.

I lived near TMS from 2005-2013. At that time they were drawing close to a quarter million people for the cup races. Sad to see how far NASCAR has fallen. Too many rich kids, very few are there for their talent these days.

Reddick and Dillon are competing directly with each other to secure a playoff spot. I wonder if team orders will come into play and how that will pan out. Prior to yesterday's win, I heard there was a chance Reddick might move to the #10. I don't know if that's still in play.

 

To be fair attendance has been up since fans have been allowed back. But many would also argue that Texas Motor Speedway was kind of ruined by the reconfiguration. Even fans of Indy complain about it.

Good. I recall Earnhardt doing the same pace at move in the 90s and everyone had a chuckle about it.

Dale did it joking with Elmo Langley who drove the pace car. He did it all the time. Kyle on the other hand was pissed and I expect he was about to dump the pace car but probably had Gibbs in his ear threatening him. I get that Kyle is the heel, bad guy or whatever. But he has to stop being so much of a jerk or he will end up losing his ride and sponsors and will realize he is not shit unless he is in good equipment.

 

Gibbs wasn't in his ear. Here was merely trying to get his point across. He never looked like he was going to do any more than he did.

 

I can tell you the radio chatter from the 18 at that point wasn't PG13...
