booster the program enough and your kid will play!

Lots of racing still in 2021 but 2022 will be a big season for teams and drivers to prove themselves

I just want Matty to get a win this year so he can be the guy to get no. 100.

And shut a lot of haters mouths. Everyone wants to judge his career on this year... but everyone forgets there isn't regular practice. And its different from last year because nobody has really got a handle on the rule changes. (Well... except the 5) Thats why we've had such parody. So... not doing well this year shouldnt be a bad mark on ANY career ( looking at you Harvick fans)

But... all that said... this week and Daytona are the 21's best chance at a dub before the playoffs.

    Playoffs.... PLAYOFFS?!

Good points. Matt is higher in points than the Daytona 500 winner, two spots behind Christopher Bell, and three Stewart-Haas teams.

A few additions to make me feel cool.
Ty Gibbs equipment is brand new cutting edge shit every week I expect. Just no way the kid is that good out of the box. I expect after a few hard hits he will lose the balls factor he seems to have.

I don’t buy it. The grandson of a racing powerhouse just happens to be a natural. Its the equipment. They are creating this kid by giving him equipment that is new cutting edge stuff in ARCA where most teams use old equipment. It’s not even fair the amount of money they are throwing at that series and this team. This makes him think he is that good and that continues when he gets only the best of the best in Xfinity. Because he is a kid he just goes for it and it has turned out well to this point. The issue is when he runs out of talent and hits the wall he will not understand what is wrong.

He will find some success but he will be rushed and have no respect from those around him. His last name has given him a shroud of protection to this point but in time he will get dumped by those in lesser equipment who have had to scratch to get a ride.

All extremely valid points and you aren’t going to hear me disagree. He has everything at his disposal; equipment, mentoring and the name.

He just needs to drive and respect will be earned. I’ll hang on for the ride as long as possible assuming he doesn’t become another Logano. Joe Gibbs and the rest of the JGR family will hopefully lead him in a direction of respect.

He has it all but he also can lose it all. However, I’m pulling for the kid.

That’s a good looking race car right there.

Yes and no. Yes he has quality equipment but they all have the same rules to follow. Xfinity cars drive a lot different than ARCA ones. The kid has talent. We'll see what happens when he gets into cup. You don't just "accidentally" get 3 Xfinity wins without talent.

Randy LaJoie "accidentally " won a championship with no talent.

But... talent in Xfinity doesn't seem to translate to cup. There has only been 6 Xfinity champions to win a Cup Championship. The best drivers of the last couple decades... JJ, Gordon, and Hamiln barely had an Xfinity career.

Except for Chase... the series champions have been mostly mid pack drivers for cup in the last decade ( yes... Byron seems to have a little success as of late... but jury is still out on him).

I think in the next few years... Denny takes his talents over to his race team and Ty gets the open ride there ( I think 11 goes with Denny too... so it'd be another number I'd bet). He'll be another Erik Jones... midpack driver that lucks into a few wins here or there. Not JGR caliber.

I mean, sure, if the goalpost is winning a Busch and Xfinity championship- a highly improbably statistic. This rules out a ton of other, great drivers that never ran a full season Busch schedule.

I completely missed the race. Was at the park with the fam. However, I did tune in for the absolutely bonkers Indycar race in Nashville. It’s going on my travel calendar for next year. Hopefully they’ll fix everything that went wrong this year. They weren’t even finished building the grandstands until TODAY. They had to refund a bunch of weekend ticket holders because they had no seats. General admission offered very few actual viewing spots. The track was so narrow that cars routinely log jammed and just plowed into each other. The most dominant car all day plowed into the wall near-head on. There were multiple red flags, scoring loop controversies, a water leak running across the track, crappy Nashville streets so bumpy the potholes literally wrenched the steering wheels out of driver’s hands. There were road bumps so bad it slammed driver’s heads back and forth in the cockpit. One car went airborne, and won the friggin race. It was balls to the wall even if 1/2 the race was run under yellow.
