Kyle also talked about how they couldn’t get his truck right, I didn’t watch so I can only go off what I read this morning.

Time will tell. Chase has by far been the most dominant in cup this year. Showed up at every track with a top three car. As far as last night Kyle does not have much to stand on for them not getting his truck right. Chase strapped into a truck with a team he does not typically drive for in a series he only dabbles in without a lap in the seat and started way further back. Kyle had every opportunity last night to include better tires at the conclusion. I am not taking anything away from Kyle at all but when you compare overall performance this year Chase has the upper hand.

As a Hendrick fan, I am very happy, as a awesome Bill fan, I’m very excited, as a Kyle bush fan, great hope we have some dam good racing. But again, Chase has some work to do, and I think he will.

I'm just happy I get bonus cup racing tonight. And they do it on Wednesday night... which is the night before my only late start day I get. ( 7am versus 5:30 the other days. I do something different on Thursday now)

I think Kyle's excuse of "the crew not getting the truck right" is funny considering he beat the field by 2 sec. The only guy that outran him is another cup guy. Seems the truck was plenty good to beat the normal competition.

He has won races and got out and complained his ride wasn’t right, the guy can wheel a freaking turd and beat most. Seriously, is he a jerk, seems to be at times. Is he full of himself, I think so. Can he win in almost anything he drives, I think so.

Do you remember that time Chase got into a truck he had never seen and whooped Kyle's ass on the first bounty attempt on older tires after a restart and Kyle had 20 laps to cut a less than 1 sec lead in a truck he owns and drives all the time with the backing of JGR.

I am just effing around man. Kyle is a hell of a wheel man. I have said many times the best on the track. It's just funny he is such a sore loser and I think Chase is coming into his own a little. It is rare that Kyle gets beat and he is such a sore loser you have to have fun with it when it happens. It is a bonus that most of his fans are as sore losing as Kyle.

The smart play for Kyle would have been to walk over and congratulate Chase and say "I owed you one!

I didn't say this on r/NASCAR because I'd get downvoted into oblivion, but I think Kyle gave the race to Chase there at the end. In the last 15-20 laps he caught up to Chase and was .34 seconds behind him and then he suddenly fell back to around 1-1.5 seconds behind and seemed to just ride there, not changing lanes or trying to hunt Chase down, then, in the final lap he made up 3/10 of a second by the time they were on the backstretch. If Kyle had started that charge two laps earlier he could've caught Chase. Kyle knew he owed Chase one, and he totally tried to sell it in his un-aired post-race interview, playing his character of the heel.

Kyle seemed to blame stuff breaking on his other trucks in the post-race interview, which he shouldn't be concerned about during the race. This is where that owner/driver role comes into conflict. Why upset your driver by telling him his other trucks are junk? If he's behind the wheel, he should be focused on doing one thing, which is managing that race car, not getting realtime updates on his other trucks.

tl:dr Kyle backed off because he owed Chase after Darlington, hammed it up as the Heel afterward to sell the loss as genuine, and the raw track data might back it up.

    Lost in all of this....

WHO THE HECK IS ZANE SMITH? and MAN CAN HE WHEEL A RACE CAR!

In only his third truck start, and first time at Charlotte, he took Kyle Busch to school time and again. This kid is going to be good. Minimal data, but it's showing a trend of race over race improvement. https://www.racing-reference.info/drivdet/smithza01/2020/C

Kyle never has or never will give away a win, in anything, for any reason.

I don’t think he gave it to him, but allowed chase to cash in.

    I’m trying here.

At the cup level I could see Kyle giving Chase a little space or a break to get in line. Even racing him clean out of 4 for a race. In the truck series with the bounty thing, I don't think so. I think Kyle gave it all he had last night and just came up a little short. KB does not play the role of a dick. He truly is a dick and gets limited chances to drive in that series so I don't see him giving up shit because he grew a heart.
