Oh, man, that brings back some memories. I did two weeks of detailed geologic mapping throughout that area 12 years ago this month. Just hearing those names makes me want to get on top of Dunderberg Peak, Black Mountain, and Mount Olsen again. Never did get down to Lundy, but saw it from up on Olsen.

Pretty good day trip, even if the fish weren't biting! Trail is in good shape, tiny bit of snow at the very top switchback, but not enough to hinder anything.

Me and a buddy went down the coast for some camping onmotos over the weekend. We did 470 miles total. Pretty much all pavement except maybe 25 miles of dirt.
    It’s nice getting 50+mpg.

Love it! I would love to own an adventure bike one day and just ride and camp. Have my endorsement since 2003 and have yet to ride.

    The usual
This is going to make things any better, esp for Moab, how many 18 year olds will roll their trucks off hells gate this year?

The number of "overland" ads has been increasing. Covid has made camping by reservation difficult at best so people are heading for the hills and dispersed camping. They're leaving tons of trash and paper flowers. And now the focus is on damage to cultural artifacts.

    These things aren't good.

I did a quick loop up the Bishop side of Coyote and out the Big Pine side Saturday. I passed a group heading out that had 17 rigs in it. 10 years ago I wouldn't see 17 rigs up there in an entire season. Fuck You Outside Magazine.

Those that know, know. Those that don't Google it.

Incredibly impressive that that Hilux survived that degree of romping, but fuck me does that guy and his channel represent so much of what is wrong with people today.

17 should be permitted group. Personally, if they have that many, they should be forced into two groups and forced to camp in an area that supports a large group. Better yet, say no.

too many surface shitters! I hate it, gives the community a bad wrap when really it’s just the bozo wanna bes that use to be into modding Honda civics and now want to be “overlanders” but really don’t like camping or respect the outdoors. :annoyed::annoyed::annoyed:

You get what I’m saying though.
You definitely don’t fall into the “group” I’m talking about.

I was in one of my favorite places last week and on my drive out, someone crapped in the road (the freakkkkking road in a 4x4 campground) and left the TP and I was just in shock. It’s been getting worse over the last year or two.
