I wish this one was closer to me. It is a 6 hour drive for me.

Got an email, cancelljng my reservation for later this week at Oceano dunes due to storm activity. Looks clear and 70s to me. Anyone been there recently and can confirm? Email says even day use would be closed as well.

If you look at the radar, it’s pouring right now. The rest of the week is two or three days of sunshine then partly cloudy.

    I don’t know why they’d cancel anything.

I read on trip advisor that some of the locals on that road don't like tourist and they spread nails on the road. See any indication of that?

I can't imagine someone would salt a road that they use themselves. In my experience a lot of the nails I find in OHV areas are from people burning pallets in their campfires.

Some years ago, a man was convicted of killing a motorcyclist using a wire stretched across a public road…there have been cases of “spilled” sand in corners frequented by motorcyclists. It goes on. Even the Baja 1k has had instances of traps on the course.

No indications of nails. Houses looked normal, not creepy looking. Didn't see any humans other than the two trucks/SUV's that passed me.

Just an update. Just came back from Oceano Dunes. Up and running like usual with beautiful weather this past weekend. IDK why they would have cancelled me. Anyway, just took the kids and we rented a nearby hotel @ Pismo and did day runs on the beach/dunes.

He's not riding a motorcycle or racing Baja. He's driving a fire road for like 10 miles. Chill bro.
