    WOW.

You see that post right up there? ^ Yep, that's the type of post that has pretty much killed the NorCal traffic on this forum.

Cringe* when I read that post too. I usually stay out of this type of topic however I'd like to point out that I love coming to the NorCal section as you guys all seem chill. Hopefully meet up with you guys one of these days. I usually see those type of posts in the general discussion sessions.

Can someone fill me in with the issues of rangercomas post? I just read it as a plead to be cautious / considerate. With the lack of both of those being rampant these days in the desert / forest, I appreciate anytime I see someone trying to pass it on to others.

Forgive my cynicism, it needs to be said to all new off-road enthusiasts.

Good land stewardship for the enjoyment of all people (fauna and flora too) and future generations.

    carry on.

Oh... I don't know... maybe this comment "Stop shit posting places you want to go with no understanding" and the overall tone that brings.

    Call me crazy

Looking for some mud, snow and inclement weather.

Anyone interested? I need a truck to pull me out when i go too deep lol

I think I have about 1-2 weeks more truck projects before I'm set to do anything fun. Making progress, but still have shit to do.

I’m assuming you mean Sierra National Forest, correct?

    Or did you mean Stanislaus?

Sure. He could have phrased it a little nicer but the point he's making is spot on. Do your research. Once that's done then ask specific questions about specific trails. Don't hop into a thread asking to be spoon fed is how I read it. And I agree with that. Every NF in Cali has a website with all the resources you need to find info on any trail you want to do.

I've wheeled all over NorCal. How many questions have you seen me ask in this thread? None.

I get your point as well though. If you want to be an asshole do it politely. lol

I think the most frustrating thing is this (and others) thread is full of great information. Then you see an "I'm going", post a quick "you better check" and then get chastised for making the suggesting of a quick look through the thread or checking a website for the updated info.

It's a fine line to walk for sure. I don't mind helping people that help themselves. It's the ones that have done zero research that I don't help. I don't say anything negative but I don't volunteer info either.

Wheeling is going through the same population explosion that climbing went through a decade ago. As an old school climber and an old school wheeler I tend to keep my mouth closed about the really good stuff. There's areas on the East Side that are so overrun already it's impossible for them to go back to what they where. Then there's areas I go to that I won't see a soul for days. What separates them? Trip reports. People don't want an adventure. They want turn by turn and rock by rock beta. Then they feel comfortable enough to go on an "adventure". It's sad really. But I'm old, bitter, and adventurous. lol

All I said was that I was going or went to a certain place. The reason I do that is if anyone wants to tag along really. We usually convoy in a party of 6+ with the Rig in front being knowledgeable about the area. Hopefully doesn’t come off as rude but then again this is the internet :typing:

Hey @GyvesHD no hard feelings. I saw a new name in the forum posting about going to closed places and nipped it in the bud. My apologies for being a bit gruff - it’s not personal, it’s my own issues of having to deal with the insta crowd destruction of our lands.

    Glad you’re getting out. ✌
