I always gave sam shit calling his rig a van.....well, it feels like a van.. A sports van. Lol. I love my truck. For offroading, hands down my truck. I know it has much more done to it, but still :p

Sweet. Fordyce? Water should be low all year because of the dam work.

There's still snow down at 8000' and higher. Small amounts at 7000'. I just pulled a rig out Wednesday that got stuck in about 4' of snow at 7800'.

3 rigs would be perfect. I've done it with 2 and that was scary. A recovery on that trail would be epic with only one other rig.

I’m trying to talk my dad into a trip for his 70th birthday.

We missed a party on the actual date due to him having covid so I’m trying to get him to double down on an epic trip!

    Fordyce or Dusy!

Either would be epic. Coming from someone who's done both. The Dusy is MUCH easier then Fordyce.

I won't be on a ranch unfortunately. Wife and I are looking for a good middle point between Sac and Vacaville since I'll be working on Travis and she's looking for good nursing jobs in either Davis or west Sac. Looking forward to being back in Cali!

We could always do a Sat/Sun in Johnson Valley but that's a much longer drive for you.

Then there's Coyote which is pretty hard. Really Fordyce is the hardest trail I've done in my rig. It's really pushing it for IFS rigs. Hell, it's even pushing it for well built solid axles. It's a trail that just gets harder and harder. By the time we finished the trail I was mentally done. That's never happened on any other trail. I honestly think it's the highest bar that can be set for IFS Toyota's.

My thought is the Dusy is some of the best country to drive through in the Sierras or fordyce is some of the best wheeling we have yet to do! He was the one to bring Fordyce up so I’m all for that.

My younger brother did Fordyce in a samurai buggy thing like a decade ago and he agrees it’s some really hard wheeling.

Although Johnson valley was the only place he came back so broke (in the same rig) he decided he needed a better built buggy.

I really want to do Fordyce but I'm a little scared, not going to lie.
And I want dual cases for it.
