I'm gonna go out on a limb and say it's not the worst thing I've ever seen. For the people who will buy a Tacoma solely for pleasure use it makes sense. They were probably thinking of the people who buy a truck just to go camping that are going to put a bed rack and RTT or a canopy with a hinged sleeping platform over the bed and whether people want to admit it or not that is a lot of peoples' motive for purchasing 4x4 vehicles these days. I definitely prefer the extra space in my bed because I use my truck for everything including business but I do see the merit in the bed coolers for people who only want it for getaways or get-togethers.

Yeah I agree with that. They could of made it better, though they could of also made it worse.

Without even seeing the (woeful lack of space) inside, I'm trying to imagine worse for the cost.

The worst part really is that dollar store snowflake sticker on the driver side.

Okay. I will eat my words! Thanks for posting those up.

    :hattip:

I love seat track / L track. If only we could hook that into the bed bolts. I still may get there someday.

As much as I like the Taco accessory rails, those would have been even nicer.

I don’t strap down anything too crazy to the track, or if I’m worried I use multiple points, but if I had it to do over:

I would have tried to figure out how to ‘back’ the L track with a long piece of flat stock, drilled to match. There’s a bunch of stuff in the way under there though...

That is my main road block. It would have been cool if the frame wasn't tapered and such.

Still, the bed bold D rings are good for heavy stuff and the L track could be for general tie points. It is still on my wish list.

On a side note, the cooler side got some sort of drain setup? Cause otherwise it’s not exactly convenient to get the ice out if your done with it, if any is left unmelted.

I wonder what the ice retention is rated for on those factory coolers.

biggest issue I see with these is if you want a rack (with or without a rrt) bed stiffeners won't work

    my other dumb idea:

    drill the hole I want

drop a plumb line through the hole

measure distance to nearest frame member

bolt a chunk of angle to frame

Big ass long bolt with ‘pipe’ spacer up to bed

I understand that some will obviously like it, but the demand has to be pretty low.

If their price is anything close to nissan or chevys version of this, the demand will be zero for these.... nissan charges $1500, dodge $1100.

Im going to hold out for a set to show up for sale from a member or on craigslist.

The driver and passenger side both have a couple flimsy rubber plugs for drainage.
Looks like they'd be quickly lost and draining would become automatic..
