I spent some time looking on TrueCar and filled out a search with exactly what I was looking for (also DCLB in cement). On one hand it was annoying as hell constantly being pestered by car salesmen. BUT, when the Tacoma I was looking for came available, I got a call and snagged it up before it was even off the truck. The TC price was $3k off MSRP for an MGM DCLB, (which is unheard of these days) and when I pulled up the listing they didn’t even balk for a second and price matched for the Cement long bed. I bought mine a month ago, and even though I didn’t get the LED headlights, I couldn’t be happier. I’d totally recommend checking out TrueCar. Costco is decent too, but I think you only save $500 these days.

The manual seats had no height or angle adjustment. Super annoying on road trips... I’ll take the slow electric seats over those again any day lol.

Get it while you can. I heard rumor ( may or may not be true ) that they are changing to coil-suspension on the 2022's...
Could be total b.s. who knows.

But, if you can get what you want in the color you want in June or July... by all means go for it..
Do not wait for it to arrive and then go see and try to negotiate it'll be sold before it's off the delivery truck.

Been watching these things for months it's bizarre - found my SR5 V6 W4D Access Cab about 6 weeks ago at a dealer...
I checked the site daily and saw one had arrived. Drove it... bought it the same day. Sales Dude said they generally sell within
24 hours of arrival. They had 10 others ( double cabs / TRD's ) at that time and now only have 2 SR models on the lot.

At this moment there exactly FIVE in this configuration - the closest one in price is $2,500 over what I paid most are $3,000+ over
what I paid six weeks ago.

Chip Shortage expected to go well into 2022... despite better numbers this Covid b.s. is far from over....

Is that when they’ll introduce adjustable seats in the 4th gen?

Nice truck! I would say total BS on a major suspension change like that, any major changes will happen when the 4th Gen comes out.

I ordered mine back in 2016. It took 4 months to get but I'm happy I did. I was able to get the exact color, configuration etc without paying for extra stuff i didnt want or need. Its alot of money to not get exactly what you want.

Ya, i would call B.S on that too. Toyota is always conservative. There would be zero incentive financially or technically for them to change the suspension design.

Nah. For the 2022 model toyota had decided that hard angles are out of fashion now. Bubble cars are back in!

Saw one of these "Trail Edition" Tacomas (SR5 w/ a cooler in the bed) with 200 mi on it up for $44k
(They've since removed the price from the site, otherwise I'd post a link)

    lol!

versus leafs? That would be a whole platform design change. That won’t happen until 4th gen if it does.

and IF it does....that would be a selling point incentivizing me to wait!

Truck Beds are overrated anyways, no need for them.

Yup. I got a 2021 trail edition. I love the truck. Hate the boxes. It takes up significant bed space and the cooler’s not that great. My old 70’s Coleman is a way better cooler. I tried to keep pop circles cool for my little league team for 3 hours during a 90 degree day with the cooler about half filled with ice. Half were the pops were melted.

"Ordering" a new Tacoma is exactly that, they will find you the one you want, or as close as possible, but you can't build what ever you want. Toyota has a set number of trucks that they will built for every year depending on previous years sales, and out of that number they already have the number of each trim packages decided. If you don't belive me, try to get a double cab, long bed, SR5, with leather, sunroof, and a manual transmission.
