Any opportunities to locate or buy a service manual for the 2021s?

Specifically I am interested in the 360 camera wiring changes due to canbus, and if the signal is sent across the canbus or if the signal wire is still used

Thank you! I was actually looking for that thread as I knew I had seen those diagrams around somewhere. And thanks for the link to TIS!

Do you have any idea what communication the camera is doing on the canbus? The video feed really looks like a poor imaging device and I was going to attempt to try a known very high quality camera however the CANBUS appears to throw a wrench into that, but its unusual since it appears to still use the NTSC video feed.

I suggest you get an aftermarket system that meets your expectations. The Toyota Tacoma is not a LEXUS.:burp:

It's more for the process of doing so then it is for the camera quality itself, although that is obviously the impetus for doing so. I was well aware that the system was quite poor before I dropped nearly a thousand dollars on it. At this point I'm more interested to see if I CAN improve it rather then the quality itself.

Fundamentally the camera system itself is based on 30yr old technology, and the pieces were implemented with a STRICT control on cost. This is not a good situation for quality. Plus everyone is looking at these cheap RCA jack cameras, there are other solutions out there that use MUCH higher quality sensors then say the Natika (unfortunately still limited to NTSC transmission, boo) that could potentially offer image quality improvements.
