The bolt on the leaf spring is not backwards. The manufacturer is using a bolt that is too long. Btw, you should check the bolt on the front of the leaf spring as well. That's where the gas tank is.

The bolt is backwards...Toyota installs them with the nut on the outside.

I did the same thing when swapping my leafs. Difference is I caught it right away and reversed it.

I'm having a hard time wrapping my mind around this. How are you able to reverse the bolt with an inch and a half of space?

Install it first, before the shackle is bolted to the frame.

I did my lift by myself in my driveway. Swapped out my UCAs with the ICON billet UCAs. Knowing ahead of time that I would be needing to bend the inner fender well outward, I took caution doing so.

I cut a few fingers off a pair of old welding gloves and slipped them over the channel lock jaws. This worked beautifully. I also added a 3" x 1" x 1/8" strip of aluminum in between the channel lock and the fender to spread the load out. I slipped the aluminum into a chunk of bicycle inner tube to add additional padding.

This made the entire process of swapping the UCA bolts a breeze with zero damage.

As for the rear shackle bolt, the bolt head goes on the inside, the nut to the outside. Just a little forethought of taking note of this before removal goes a LONG way.

I visited that Landcruiser shop back when I was looking for an ARB fridge and ARB awning to look at and take some measurements from.

While chatting with a few of their mechanics in the shop, I watched them do some wrenching on an old FJ40. Was not impressed with their "finesse" on a customer's rig. One of the mechanics went at a few dry old rusty nuts like they were brand new full send with an air impact. Sheared the bolt right at the nut on one, and rounded the other nut right off so no tool will work. Followed by several minutes of under the breath swearing, and finished with taking a bolt from a parts bin and hammer to pound out the stuck bolts. Clearly these bolts were seized due to many many years of corrosion, but geezus, not even an attempt to do it right.

A little preheat followed by some good quality penetrating oil, a few mins to let things soak, a bit more heat, a bit more penetrating oils, and then some light tap tap with the impact forward and backward. This would have most likely saved both bolts, or at least made life a lot easier on the "mechanic".
