Hello everyone. I just got my first Tacoma 3 hours ago. I got the SR with the SX package. They come with 16 inch alloy wheels. I want a meatier tire on them ASAP. I’m looking at the toyo open county at3’s. Either 265/75r16 or 265/70r16. I’m a little confused about which would be a better choice and if it will rub. Also, would I just order them, bring them to a shop and they will go right on? Thanks

Congrat's on new ride!. I have same truck. First thing I did was put on 265/75/16 BFG KO's, no issues. But I am have a 2" lift installed scheduled for July 2nd:)

Thank you man! Been reading this form and the 3rd generation Tacoma page on FB for a year in preparation. I had a 05 Colorado I bought straight out of the army and have had ever since. When I knew she was dying last year I knew what I wanted

That’s awesome news man. I appreciate it. Congratulations on the lift. I want that exact one next year when I can afford what I want. I need to get through the Adirondack winter that is never too far away. The little tires that came on the truck aren’t going to get me to the mountain everyday!!

I think the SX package is a great deal, lots of guys go to a lot of trouble to get the black out look, with the package you drive off the lot with it. Post up some pictures, if you have been following the forum for a while you know 1) we like pictures 2) we like to help you spend money.

Congrats. I also picked up a 2021 SX recently. Best value available for the Tacoma IMHO!
In my nosing around, 265/75R16 seems to be absolute biggest you can go with and not worry about rubbing. That's the size I went with- I needed a snow tire. I bought OEM rims for them, and they went right on.

I’ve had my sx for a month now and love it. I’m going to get winter tires too probably 265/70. Maybe 255

Coming soon: Compact powered sub install Future mods planned: bigger tires (265/75/16) BILLSTIEN 5100 lift
265/70 is the size the Off-road comes with stock. I have an SR5 which is sort of the same suspension setup and probably similar wheels unless you got TRD wheels in the package. I went with 265/75R16 Cooper Discover AT. I have had no issue with them on the stock suspension

Congrats on the new truck. This video may provide some insight. I don't think the truck is the same package as what you have but may help.

I don’t want a lift or anything just beefier tires with a more aggressive tread look. Great performance in snow also important as I’m in the Catskills

I have an SX that is on stock suspension and I run 265/75/16 GY Duratracs. They fit perfectly and ride nice.

I have the 6 Cyl though.
