Just bought a 2021 Tacoma TRD Sport Double Cab and I love it! I got the premium package after testing one out and thought the JBL audio would be enough for me, but I was wrong - I need more power! The problem is I can't find a subwoofer box that fits the back. Everything says they only fit up to 2019 or 2020. I even contacted a company and they said the box manufacturer is working on a 2021, implying there's a difference between the 2020 Tacoma trim behind the seat and the 2021, but they look identical to me. Can anyone confirm whether or not they are the same? Can I buy a sub box that says it will fit a 2020? Thanks in advance!

I also have a 21 double cab looking for options to add a sub. Thesubboxshop.com has some 2021 boxes but I don't think that enough air space or room for a good woofer to fit or preform. I'm planning on talking out the back panels and hoping one 8 inch bazooka tube will fit.

There’s a guy named MrMarv on here that custom builds them specific to your speakers choice. I don’t have his info handy, but if you search you will find it on here. He’s a super nice dude and will talk with you to decide the best setup based on your needs/speaker selection. He’s actually in the process of building me one. High quality material too from the photos I’ve seen (not cheap MDF).

you look at the JL stealthbox? you would use a JL 10TW3 with it and its designed to fit behind passenger side rear seats in the storage box. after that its pretty much the custom route.

MDF isn’t exactly cheap, and there are reasons it’s commonly used to build subwoofer cabinets.

My apologies. You’re correct, MDF is the normal choice for boxes as far as I know. I should have said he uses “higher quality materials than MDF”. I want to say it’s birch, but I could just be making that up.

Just ordered one from him yesterday. It’s 13mm Baltic birch.
Just message him through Instagram he will answer you pretty quick. Super nice guy.
