I called a reputable tire shop today in hopes of putting a RC leveling kit on my 2021 SR5 2 wheel drive. The owner said they could not do it because of past experience with alignment issues on the last one they did. He recommended taking it to a Toyota place and have it done. Has anyone else heard of issues leveling and aligning a 2021 2 wheel drive Tacoma? TIA

People level their trucks all the time at indy shops. Take it somewhere else, other than the dealer. That’s if you really must level the truck. Rake is your friend if you ever put weight in the bed and don’t want to squat.

I levelled mine… no issues except at the Toyota dealer.

I just through in a new suspension and I am purposely putting 1” of rake back. To many trips looking like my truck is broken.

I leveled once, it's not great, any load you squat nose high.

The alignment is difficult to get perfect, but not hard.

I'd discourage the RC lift, it will sit stupid nose high unless you run a 2" rear spacer on the leaf springs.

Ideally for level on tacoma 2 front, 1 rear.

I hate the term “leveling”. I assume you are referring to a top hat spacer for your front coil-overs. I don’t have specific experience with top hat spacers nor have i heard of anyone having alignment issues, but top hat spacers due cause the stock suspension to be out of spec.

My personal experience is a bit different. I have 33” mud terrains, king coil-overs, and SPC adjustable upper control arms. My regular shop had a hard time balancing and aligning my truck such that the 33s didn’t rub. They obviously had no experience with aftermarket adjustable upper control arms. I ended up taking my truck to a 4x4 shop.

I had a tire shop that said they wouldn’t guarantee the alignment because I had a 2 inch lift. I said ok and it aligned perfectly. I think they tend to over react and treat every lift like a 6 inch plus job.
